Statement

Spring 2025,
From Chiba University of Commerce,
Nurturing the next generation of chidoka
A new practical lesson begins.

Today we face more challenges than ever before.
What will help us move forward into a pathless tomorrow?
It is "good sense" rooted in broad and deep knowledge and ethics.
How will you use the knowledge and technology you have acquired?
The ability to discern what is right without being swept away by the trends of the times.
Rather than just pursuing our own interests,
The power to lead society in a positive direction while thinking about people and looking to the future.
At Chiba University of Commerce, we call such sensible leaders "chidoka" (chido-ka).
Nurturing these skills has been our mission for over 90 years since our founding.

And now, this chidoka spirit,
Isn't this what a leader needs to lead the way in these turbulent times?
Based on this idea, we aim to provide practical education, which is the pillar of our university.
We will also update our learning to be more future-oriented.
The foundation of new learning is the ability to think and a sense of ethics.
Sustainability, the power of IT, and a global perspective.
Each student here will transcend faculties and departments,
So that you can spread your wings of curiosity as far as you want.
So that you can always encounter new worlds and deepen your learning freely.
Four faculties and six departments where you can acquire "the good sense to live for 100 years."
Spring 2025, from Chiba University of Commerce,
A new practical education program is beginning to nurture the next generation of chidoka.
