I enrolled in the newly established Faculty of Global Studies in 2015, and immediately after the entrance ceremony, I went to Shanghai for the overseas freshman camp. Through experiencing a different culture, I realized that I wanted to cherish the charm of the place and the connections with the people. I was also able to see Japan from the outside, which made me think about Japan anew. This training made me feel even more strongly that I wanted to connect with people from all over the world.
After that, I participated in many events such as overseas language training, short-term overseas training in the second year, and the CUC summer program. By communicating with people of various nationalities, I was able to improve my language skills and acquire practical conversation skills. At CUC International Square, I practiced English conversation and interacted with students from other faculties and international students through events and activities.
When I participated in GPAC (Global Partnership of Asian Colleges), I deepened my interactions with students from Asian countries such as Korea, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Israel through research presentations and discussions in English on various international issues. We formed international collaboration teams, held team discussions on each theme, and created presentations within a limited time. I was very happy to be able to share the sense of accomplishment with my team. At this university, I had many opportunities to try to do what I wanted to do. I received support and encouragement from many people, and I learned the importance of taking on challenges in anything.

Congratulations on the 90th anniversary of Chiba University of Commerce.
I would like to express my respect to the predecessors who have built the foundations of our university while overcoming the turbulent times, and I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to the current Chairman of the Board, Professor Harada, Dean, President Hara, and all the faculty and staff who work alongside the students day and night.
Our university was founded on the principle of "practical education," and many of our graduates have gone on to have outstanding careers in various industrial fields. The "CUC100 Wine Project," our 90th anniversary project that we visited last fall, was also an initiative that was in line with "practical education." The experiences that students gained through this project, such as "crowdfunding," "agriculture," "commerce," and "collaboration with the local community," will surely be useful when they enter society.
It is my sincere hope that you will continue to carry on the university's founding philosophy of "practical education" and produce even more talented people who can contribute to society. Finally, I would like to conclude my speech by congratulating Chiba University of Commerce on its 90th anniversary, with the hope that it will continue to develop even further as it approaches its next 100th anniversary.

Congratulations on your 90th anniversary.
I am happy to be involved in this 90th anniversary milestone.

Based on Chiba University of Commerce 's philosophy of practical learning, I started and run a student venture restaurant called Manpuku Dining in a space on campus called the Agora, a student lounge. While studying business administration at university, I was able to apply what I learned to actually running a store, which allowed me to learn more than I could through desk work alone. This was a great learning opportunity for me, as I dream of running multiple stores in the future. It was only because of Chiba University of Commerce that I was able to learn in this way.

I am also very grateful to the university for giving me this opportunity. I have been running a full-time dining restaurant for two and a half years at the university. For me, this experience is a lifetime treasure. I would like to continue to practice the wonderful practical learning of Chiba University of Commerce. We hope to help the further development of Chiba University of Commerce through full-time dining. Congratulations on this achievement.

When I enrolled in 2009, they were looking for staff to organize an event called GPAC (Global Partnership for Asian Students). I missed the chance to join a specific organization, so I ended up participating "just because." At the time, I felt that I was not very good at English, and I was embarrassed to even be confused when introducing myself. Even though I participated without much thought, they set aside time for training, and I also received generous support, such as being allowed to participate in classes from other faculties.

Now I work as a guide and transport for people visiting Hokkaido from both within Japan and overseas. I am able to confidently deal with customers from overseas thanks to the support I received from my alma mater.
Six years have passed since I left my alma mater. I have heard that many programs are still being implemented. I hope that current students will participate in as many programs as possible and feel the good care that their alma mater provides.

Continuing evolution towards the 100th anniversary

Evolution Continues as We Reach 100th Anniversary
Faculty of Global Studies Chief, Professor

When I was asked to be the general producer of the 90th anniversary ceremony, the commemorative lecture and symposium, and the series of events that followed, the first thing I thought about was that this event itself should remain in people's minds as a page in history. 90 years is a milestone that connects the past and the future, a milestone toward the 100th anniversary, not a goal, but a moment on the long, long road that continues from now on. However, without this page, the next chapter cannot begin.

In the 10 years since the last 80th anniversary, the university has evolved remarkably. With an eye on the beginning of the 21st century, President Kato Hiroshi established the Faculty of Policy and Information Studies, which organizes a new academic system holonically. Following this, President Shimada Haruo established Faculty of Service Innovation, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Faculty of Global Studies in response to the demands of the times, and based on the traditional Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration Economics, the university has become a comprehensive social science university with five faculties in both name and reality. At the same time, the university has also promoted globalization, building ties with sister schools in 40 countries around the world. In addition to researcher exchanges, the university has also established an educational environment in which students who have studied abroad can regard their alma mater as their alma mater. In particular, the university has realized a double degree system with Lisin Accounting and Finance University in Shanghai, China.

President Tang Haiyan of Risshin Accounting and Finance College visited Japan and gave a wonderful speech for the commemorative lecture. After a video message from universities around the world, a panel discussion was held with current students, and the students, especially alumni, praised the attractive students, including the representative student of Mizuho-kai who achieved an unprecedented seventh consecutive victory in the bookkeeping competition, a student working hard with students from Seoul National University, Peking University, Vietnam National University, etc. in GPAC (Global Partnership of Asian Colleges), and a student who has launched a student venture cafeteria and aims to become a future restaurant king.

In conjunction with the Library renovation, we also unveiled the completed seminar room, named "Ida Memorial Hall" in accordance with the wishes of the late president of Sanyo Foods, who was an alumnus. When researchers from overseas universities visited the university in connection with the "100% Renewable Energy University" initiative promoted by current President, they immediately held a seminar in this room.

The University Dining, where the social gathering was held, has received many honors, including academic awards, and was also introduced as having been ranked first among universities nationwide in a survey by the Waseda University Cafeteria Research Group, and second only to Kyoto University on an online site. Incidentally, the University of Tokyo came in third. I hope that by the 100th anniversary, not only the cafeteria but all of the other areas will achieve similar rankings.

Congratulations on the 90th anniversary of Chiba University of Commerce. I am deeply in sympathy with your slogan of creating highly virtuous business people. The Chiba Chapter of the Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accountants signed a comprehensive agreement with your university in April 2017, and collaboration activities are gradually progressing.

During "University Hour" in October 2017 and May 2018, we held information sessions for new students to introduce the work of certified public accountants. In February 2019, we will hold an information session at your university's affiliated high school, and in March, we will set up a booth at Kids Business Town to teach children about the work of certified public accountants and the appeal of accounting.

He also participated in the advisory board, which aims to improve the educational standard of Graduate School of Accounting & Finance, MBA Program, and exchanged opinions on the curriculum, class format, etc. At the advisory board meeting, he gave a speech on the theme of "The environment surrounding certified public accountants."

Contributing to the local community is one of the basic policies of the Chiba Chapter of the Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accountants. We would like to continue to build a cooperative relationship with the Chiba Chapter to realize our common philosophy of improving accounting education. We wish Chiba University of Commerce continued success.

Universities play a variety of roles, including the pursuit of truth, human resource development, and contribution to society. On the occasion of our 90th anniversary, in addition to our traditional role as a university, I believe that our university should further deepen practical learning and contribute to society through practical learning. The world has changed dramatically with the progress of the ICT (information and communication technology) revolution, represented by the Internet and AI (artificial intelligence). It will change even more dramatically in the future.

The vision of Jitsugaku is to create various venture companies originating from our university and provide the world with a high-quality CUC brand. To achieve this, we need close intellectual cooperation vertically, horizontally, and diagonally with students, faculty, staff, alumni, and local people who are rich in various abilities and ideas. The "Manjusri Wisdom" of our university associates will be the source of new businesses. The university should provide a "Manjusri Wisdom Platform" as a place to incubate them. One way to use the Marunouchi satellite office, which has a good foothold, as a platform several times a year. It would also be good for the university to hold a large-scale new business discovery competition and actively support the winners, and to continuously hold special lectures by successful venture business people inside and outside the university and deepen dialogue between them and students. We would like to create several new businesses and send them out into the world with the goal of our 100th anniversary in 10 years.

I dream of Mongolian international students studying accounting and tax law at a business university.
-Establishment of the Japan-Mongolia Friendship Tax Accountants Association, as part of its activities-

Yukio Ishii

On September 3, 2018, I established the Japan-Mongolia Friendship Tax Accountants Association with the full cooperation of the Japan Federation of Certified Public Tax Accountants' Associations (JFPA) and the Chiba Prefectural Certified Public Tax Accountants' Association (Chiba Association), along with many other supporters. Ten years ago, when I ran for the Chiba Prefectural Certified Public Tax Accountants' Association, one of the items in my manifesto was to promote and contribute to the spread of the Japanese Certified Public Tax Accountant System to developing countries in Asia, which led to my election. After that, even during my three-term, six-year term as vice-president of the JFPA, I was dispatched to the Asia Oceania Tax Consultants Association (AOTCA) every year as the international affairs officer, where I studied the tax systems of Asian countries and the tax accountant industry. Among these countries, Mongolia enacted a new constitution in 1992, abandoned the socialist system, and transitioned to a market economy system. As a result, democratization has progressed significantly, and as a country of green grasslands and mineral resources, the economy has developed and the tax accountant system has finally been legalized and is becoming established as a national system.

When I contacted the Mongolian Tax Accountants Association with the news of the establishment of the Friendship Tax Accountants Association, they planned to hold a report meeting in the capital, Ulaanbaatar, on September 12th. The venue was the International Conference Hall in the main building of the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and it was attended by dozens of officials from both countries' tax accountants' associations, as well as several counselors and secretaries from the Japanese Embassy, and was held with great fanfare, including television media coverage. As future concrete business development becomes important, they strongly requested that we publish an information magazine, and that young students, especially those in the fields of accounting and tax law, be sent to Japan as international students and undergo on-the-job training (internships) at Japanese tax accountant offices, perhaps because the chairman of the Mongolian Tax Accountants Association is also a university Professor. Now, the acceptance of international students at Chiba University of Commerce and the consideration of a program for on-the-job training at Chiba Association member offices are clearly emerging as my "dream concept."

Congratulations on your 90th anniversary.
I served as the executive committee chairman of the 69th Mizuho Festival, commemorating the 90th anniversary of Chiba Chiba University of Commerce, and was involved in a milestone page in history for the past 90 years and on the way to the 100th anniversary. We, the Mizuho Festival Executive Committee, are a small group, but we plan, prepare, and run everything by ourselves. There are many hardships and difficulties, but on the day of the event, we feel a sense of accomplishment that makes it appropriate to say that our efforts have paid off. I'm ashamed to say that I joined the committee without thinking about it when I enrolled. However, as I worked as an executive committee member, the things I wanted to do and try increased day by day, and I was able to find meaning in my "four years at Chiba University of Commerce."
As we started something new, the university gave us a lot of support and created an environment that allowed us to learn through our activities. Creating the Mizuho Festival would not have been possible without the help of everyone involved, including current students, alumni, faculty, local residents, and companies. Therefore, we will never forget our gratitude and connections, and will continue to work hard to contribute even a little to the development of Chiba University of Commerce, so we appreciate your support.

Congratulations on the 90th anniversary of Chiba University of Commerce.
I have lived in Ichikawa for almost all my life since I can remember. In that sense, I'm a native Ichikawa kid. It's hard to find someone in Ichikawa who doesn't know Chiba University of Commerce. I visited Chiba University of Commerce for the first time in a long time, and the campus became very fashionable without knowing it. In the past, it was all boys, and when I said Chiba University of Commerce, I had a somewhat muddy image ... How did it become such a wonderful place? Now the students look gorgeous.
I can't help but feel the passage of time, thinking that the atmosphere of Chiba University of Commerce at that muddy time was also good. I think the biggest thing about the trend of the times is the wonderful idea of using renewable energy for all the electricity used by the school, and the realization of it. Ichikawa's efforts to expand from Chiba University of Commerce to Japan Chiba University of Commerce and the world are wrapped in kindness and love for the earth. I am proud that such a wonderful thing is happening here in Ichikawa.

Congratulations to Chiba University of Commerce on its 90th anniversary. We offer our heartfelt congratulations.
Up until now, your school has firmly inherited the ideals of its founder, Professor Endo Ryukichi, and has undertaken various endeavors with the mission of nurturing and sending out into society people who can pursue their real-life callings based on high ideals and who can view individual sciences from a comprehensive perspective, through "practical studies," which are academic subjects that are useful in the real world, in other words, "chidoka of virtue."
Furthermore, in order to realize a sustainable society through the spread of natural energy, the university is actively engaged in pioneering initiatives such as becoming the first "100% natural energy university" in Japan.
I hope that you will continue to carry on Professor Endo's philosophy and contribute even more to society. Finally, I would like to conclude my message of congratulations by wishing your university continued success as it approaches its 100th anniversary in another 10 years.

Since enrolling at Chiba University of Commerce, I have been able to learn and grow a lot. When I enrolled, I set two goals for myself: to get a job at an IT company and to pass the Applied Information Technology Engineers Examination. In order to achieve these goals, I have actively engaged in various things, such as lectures and seminars, to further develop the things I like and am good at, and to overcome my weaknesses, even if only a little. As a result, I was able to achieve all of the goals I set when I enrolled.
In addition, I supported the lectures as a teacher assistant at the "IT Dojo" study group, which aimed to improve the IT skills of the entire Chiba Gakuen. Through this activity, I was able to interact with teachers from all departments and gain new knowledge and experience that was different from a normal lecture, as well as the motivation to continue learning through the enthusiasm of the students.
From my student life so far, I have learned to experience many things, discover specific goals from them, think about what I need to do, and take action to achieve my goals. I would like to devote the rest of my student life to my graduation research, which will be the culmination of my learning.
As I begin my working life next spring, I will continue to learn and grow so that I can become the adult I want to be.

I am a foreign student from Shanghai who enrolled in the Faculty of Policy and Information Chiba University of Commerce in April 2002.
The School of Policy and Information Studies is a global school that holds direct entrance exams in Shanghai at the earliest stage among Japanese universities. During my time at the school, I belonged to two seminars, the Mitsuhashi Norihiro seminar and the Uchida Shigeo seminar. In the Mitsuhashi seminar, we planned and carried out many projects to obtain ISO14001 certification, which was a student-led effort, and I was taught the PDCA cycle of "Plan, Do, Check, Action."
In addition, in the Uchida seminar, I learned not only accounting and economics, which are the foundations of finance, but also the foundations of business management through case studies. During my time at university, I was able to receive a tuition exemption program, the Heiwa Nakajima Foundation, and a scholarship for Japanese government-sponsored students from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, which allowed me to focus on my studies and, after graduation, I was accepted into Keio Business School.
This year marks my 11th year as a working professional in Japan, and I am currently mainly in charge of identifying and structuring not only traditional asset investment trusts that boutique asset managers around the world can offer to Japanese clients, but also alternative products such as PE. I believe that the reason I have been able to work at the forefront of a global financial institution since graduating is because I have been able to make use of what I learned in both seminars, as well as my encounters with Professor Mitsuhashi and Professor Uchida.

In April 2009, I left my position as a researcher at a private company after 24 years and became a teacher at Chiba University of Commerce. When I first came to this university, I was confused by the energetic and somewhat mischievous students, but gradually I began to see the delicate hearts of young people and their earnest search for what they wanted to do. I began to think, "I see. It is our mission as university teachers to provide these students with a solid foundation for independence and send them out as human resources who can play an active role in society." In fact, when students are given opportunities to collaborate with companies, present at academic conferences, and obtain qualifications, they change greatly. After I realized that it is the experience of success that makes students grow, I began to feel the joy of educating students.
Chiba University of Commerce offers a variety of specialized lectures, sometimes rigorous support for qualifications, active learning, projects with companies and local communities, international exchange, and generous job-hunting support. Through these activities by enthusiastic faculty and staff, Chiba University of Commerce aims to help many students find their own path and take a step into society with confidence. We will continue to strive to provide students with higher quality education.

Congratulations on the 90th anniversary of the founding of Chiba University of Commerce.
The Japan Association for Financial Planners celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2017, and one of the educational institutions that began academic research on financial planning (FP) shortly after the association's founding was Chiba University of Commerce. On behalf of the association, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the university for its many years of dedication to promoting and raising awareness of FP throughout Japan.
In addition to the traditional challenges facing Japan, such as a declining birthrate, aging population, deteriorating government finances, and declining economic growth, over the past few years, the impact of the 100-year lifespan and the Fourth Industrial Revolution have made it increasingly difficult for individuals to establish life plans.
In light of this, a national certification exam was started in 2003 with the aim of training professionals, and to date, more than 1.9 million FP technicians have been certified. Of these, the number of individual members of the Japan FP Association is over 200,000, and both organizations include many CUC-related personnel.
In recent years, FP's business scope has continued to expand through strengthened collaboration with government agencies, financial institutions, educational institutions, media organizations, etc. We sincerely hope that FPs from CUC will continue to be active in various fields and that CUC will continue to develop further.

Congratulations on the 90th anniversary of the founding of the university.
Just the other day, a mother with a kindergarten daughter who lives near the university shared this story with us.
Chiba University of Commerce She especially likes The University Dining Room and the fountain in front of Library. It's a nice place to spend time and relax. It's a nice university where you can relax and have a good time."
Hearing this story made me realize that the university itself is a space like a city that embraces diversity. I had taken for granted the sight of parents and children spending time together and local senior groups spending time freely on campus, but I suppose this is a result of the importance the university has placed on being "open to the community". I am very happy to be able to live for four years at a university where I can sense this kind of diversity.
Every year, the Kuchiki Seminar, to which I belong, produces a booklet that introduces the good qualities of the local community by picking up episodes from the local people, which we can notice "only from the students' perspective. This time, keeping this perspective in mind, we are working on a commemorative booklet to celebrate our 90th anniversary together. The concept of this booklet is to make alumni, current students, neighbors, and prospective students want to come to Chiba University of Commerce and talk with us... "to be a thread that connects Chiba University of Commerce and you again and again". We hope you will take a copy when it is completed.

As Dean, I have enhanced the liberal arts education, and changed the basic seminar called "Research Basics" from a semester to a full year. I also established a class called "Business Ethics" and tried to train ethical social leaders in line with the founding spirit of the university. In the specialized subjects, I was in charge of seminars on finance and monetary theory, but I also lectured on securities markets and foreign exchange. I tried to explain the classes in a way that was easy for students to understand, but I did not lower the level. During my time as Dean, I established a new law course under a course system called "multiple specialization system" to learn a wide range of specialized knowledge. I also placed importance on seminar activities to cultivate problem discovery, problem solving, and presentation skills. Education at this university is something I enjoy, and it also gives me hints for research, so I am happy to have been given this opportunity.
I was able to write research papers and books in an excellent research environment. I also served in university administration as Dean, director of Research Center for Economics, Library director, and Director. In academic circles, I served as Director the Japan Society of Financial Studies and the Japan Director of Securities Economics.
Keynes said that a "good economist" is "one who studies the present in the light of the past for the purposes of the future" (Collected Works, Vol. 10). I have striven to be that kind of person, and I hope to become more and more so in the future.

Congratulations to your school, Chiba University of Commerce, on celebrating its 90th anniversary.
Well, I met your school through recruitment activities. I think the reason I wanted to employ your students is largely due to the school's policy. I was attracted to the wonderful fact that you value "practical learning" and have a firm policy for it. The "three languages" advocated by the traditional Faculty Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration accurately and clearly express the essential elements in modern society. Natural language gives you the ability to respond to the international community. By making full use of artificial languages, you can disseminate information. And accounting language gives you logical persuasiveness. The concept that it is possible to develop human resources who can act by having these three elements can be the most desirable human resources for companies.
Rather than providing a broad but shallow overall education, education that delves deeply into specialized fields is what creates strong human resources, and we believe that this stance and approach is at the forefront and the strongest.
I wish your school, Chiba University of Commerce of Commerce, continued prosperity and would like to offer my congratulations on your 90th anniversary. Congratulations!

According to founder Endo Ryukichi, Chiba University of Commerce 's educational philosophy is, "The essence of education is to know the greatness of people and to make people realize why they are so great. Furthermore, the first priority is how to interact with people." This is the origin of Chiba University of Commerce, which has produced many useful human resources. The strength of this university is that it teaches students the importance of learning freely and becoming independent, realizing for themselves the greatness of their own abilities, and utilizing those abilities in society. For this reason, the university is highly regarded for its track record of nurturing jido-ka, or nurturing human resources who are active in many fields, such as highly virtuous businessmen and capable accountants.
Education of people depends on people. Fortunately, since I was appointed, I have been blessed with excellent human resources. In the management team, we have had the tolerant Harada Yoshinaka, the decisive Tojo Yoshihiko, and the polite Takayanagi Minoru, while in the position of President, we have had the god of cost accounting Banba Kaichiro and the great reformer of the future society Kato Hiroshi (titles omitted). We have achieved a wide range of accomplishments in each field, but in terms of training accountants, we were one of the earliest to open Research Center for Accounting, and together with Mizuho-kai, we have produced many talented people. But that's not all. President Kato Hiroshi opened a graduate school of accounting, and has achieved great success in training accountants, becoming a major hub school.
Now, Chiba University of Commerce is no longer a single-discipline university. It has developed into a hall of fame for social sciences, with Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, Faculty of Policy and Information Studies, Faculty of Faculty of Service Innovation, Faculty of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Faculty of Global Studies Liberal Arts, and a graduate school with doctoral, master's, and professional courses. As someone who has a deep love for Chiba University of Commerce, where I have spent most of my life, I pray for its continued growth in the future.

I would like to wholeheartedly celebrate the 90th anniversary of the founding of our alma mater, and pray for its continued prosperity and growth as we approach the 100th anniversary.
It was a great blessing to have served as a staff member at my alma mater from April 1954 to March 2008, starting with the second President, Mr. Mori Shikuma, who was the President of the university's revival, and continuing through all the successive presidents.
We look back on the achievements of Professors Kaichiro Banba and Hiroshi Kato, who served as President for three terms and 12 years and built the foundation for the development of our alma mater.

  1. Dr. Kaichiro Banba (4th President, April 1975 - March 1987)
Under the slogan of "Building a Castle of Learning in Kohnodai," Dr. Bamba published a letter in the Chiba University of Commerce newsletter titled "Mr. B's Thoughts" and "Plans and Realization" to express his strong will to tackle the many problems facing the university, which resulted in the establishment of the Specially Appointed Professor system and other measures, and the approval of Graduate School of Commerce with Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration as the basic faculty and the establishment of the master's program in the Graduate School of Economics.
    1. The 1960s was a time of conflict among universities, and at our university, a university-wide open debate was held in front of Building No. 3 with the alumni association on May 28th and 31st, 1969. Immediately after assuming his position as president, the President worked hard to improve the campus environment, including regulating the use of standing signs and prohibiting posting of notices in places other than designated areas.
    2. A sliding scale tuition fee revision was implemented for students entering in the 1976 academic year, and a tuition fee refund system was introduced for students who declined admission.
    3. The school acquired land owned by the adjacent Nippon Medical School in March 1978, and completed the ball field in April 1980. It also installed a west gate and worked to improve the campus.
    4. To collect the lifetime alumni membership fee (now called the "entrance fee"), a group of volunteer permanent executives would set up a tent on the day of the graduation ceremony every year to call out to graduates. Thanks to their efforts, the alumni association was allowed to collect the fee on a consignment basis from students enrolled in 1977, and the alumni association's financial foundation was established. The members were overjoyed.
  2. Dr. Hiroshi Kato (6th President, April 1995 - March 2007, April Honorary President)
Based on his belief that the university should be a first-class university, Dr. Kato, upon assuming his position at President, always gave interviews to the mass media, including television and newspapers, under the title of "Chiba University of Commerce Director," except for interviews as Chairman of the Government Tax Research Commission, which deeply impressed those involved with the school.
    1. The professor regarded students as "international students from the future" and immediately began teaching them three languages - natural language, artificial language, and accounting - and small classes. Natural language classes would be held in classes of less than 30 students, and building No. 6 (nicknamed the Logos Building) was completed in March 1997. He also devoted himself to creating an environment for information education.
    2. Based on the teaching of "han-gaku han-kyo" (the one who learns one day earlier is the teacher, and the one who learns one day later is the disciple), the SA and TA systems, as well as the Twilight Course, were established in April 1996.
    3. A university is not a university, but a university-city. Therefore, it was argued that cooperation with the local community is an important issue, with "the city is the university and the university is the city."
    4. In order to make the campus open 24 hours a day, in April 2002, computers were installed in the student lounge (now the alumni salon) on the first floor of the main building and in the entrance hall on the first floor of Mizuho Kaikan (now The University HUB) and made available to students for use throughout the day.
    5. Like Professor Banba, he worked to improve the graduate school, and approved and established the Faculty of Policy Informatics, the Master's Program in the Graduate School Graduate School of Policy Studies, Doctoral Program, the Doctoral Program Graduate School of Accounting & Finance, MBA Program. In April 2005, when the Professional Degree Program was established, a satellite classroom was opened in Toranomon, Tokyo.
    6. He was instrumental in establishing the Educational Research Group in August 1996, the Alumni Athletic Association in September of the same year, and the Accounting Club in 2004.

I owe Chiba University of Commerce two debts. The first is the birth and development of the town development organization "Genki! Ichikawa-kai," and the second is the 22-year continuation of the "Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Management School," which allows students to hone their skills as managers and improve their human potential.
The "Genki! Ichikawa Association," which promotes the creation of a dignified, lively and bustling town around Ichikawa Station, was launched on March 31, 2001, at a social gathering following the "City Center Revitalization Forum" sponsored by your university.
Without this project and the encounters between the highly motivated members of industry, government, academia, and the public, the town's appeal would have remained low. Our association received guidance from Professor T, who has extensive administrative experience, on strategy and tactics.
On the other hand, the school, which was started in 1997 under the leadership of Professor S, is not a classroom-based learning program. Instead, it invites small and medium-sized business managers with outstanding management philosophies and track records to take the stage, and the first part of the program focuses on lectures and question-and-answer sessions.
The second part of the regular "Seiseiseku" meeting is a social gathering with lecturers that also functions as an inter-industry networking event. Even though the industries involved are different, the "human dojo" and "business matching" sessions provide a great deal of insight and realizations, such as management philosophies and ways to invigorate employees.
I am working with your university, a treasure of the local community, to do what I can to give back.
I'm glad Chiba University of Commerce is in Ichikawa!

I was appointed as a full-time lecturer at Chiba University of Commerce in 1971, at the age of 29. In 1978, I experienced the university's 50th anniversary. The commemorative gift I received on that occasion, a Sony ultra-compact transistor radio, is still in good working order and sits on my desk in my study, still in good working order.
At the time of our 50th anniversary, our university was a single-faculty university with only Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration of Graduate School of Commerce. Now, 40 years later, we are celebrating our 90th anniversary this year, and our university has become more diverse, with five faculties and five graduate schools, and we are getting closer to becoming the "comprehensive university of social sciences" envisioned by our third President, Yozo Ishii.
Around the time of our university's 50th anniversary, Japan's population of 18-year-olds was over 1.5 million, and the number of students had soared to 600,000. However, 10 years from now, when we reach our 100th anniversary, the population of 18-year-olds is predicted to fall below 1.1 million, and the number of students to the 500,000 range.
It's not a Sony radio, but if it's good quality it will last a long time. I hope that they will build a long-lasting, compact "comprehensive university of social sciences" for the next 100th anniversary.

Congratulations on the 90th anniversary of Chiba University of Commerce. I graduated exactly 40 years ago, on the 50th anniversary of the university's founding. At the time, there was only one faculty, Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, but today there are five faculties and the university continues to evolve. I believe this is proof that the people involved with the university have quickly adapted to the needs of the rapidly changing world and challenged new things. Although it is 90 years in one word, I sense that the education society has also changed in various ways during that time, and it has been a series of "hardships and difficulties." However, I believe that the history of continuity over the past 90 years has proven the university to be a "trusted learning institution" and has led to its recognition in the world. And the education that our university has consistently provided for these 90 years is "practical education." I am one of those who learned practical education at our university, and today, as a company manager, that education at that time is at the foundation of who I am, and I am engaged in "practical education exchange" at a meeting called the "CUC Management Conference" made up of people who graduated from our university and are now company managers. It is finally 10 years until the big milestone of the 100th anniversary. I would like to offer my congratulations and hope that this university will continue to grow further as a source of pride for its graduates and a trusted learning institution in the educational community.

Congratulations on your 90th anniversary.
I entered Chiba University of Commerce as a member of the first class of the Faculty of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
As this is a new faculty, there are no seniors, and we have taken on various challenges with the awareness that we are building this faculty by ourselves. Looking back, learning at university has always been a challenge. I think that the reason we were able to take on various challenges despite being a new faculty, such as creating the "Rurubu Chiba University of Commerce ver." and participating in a regional revitalization project in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, is because Chiba University of Commerce has had a culture of taking on challenges for a long time.
Over these four years, I have had the opportunity to learn not only on campus but also in the community as part of active learning. By actually seeing and experiencing the work of professionals active in the community, I have learned practical ways of thinking and techniques, and have met people I respect. I am happy to be graduating in this memorable 90th anniversary year. After graduation, I will continue to challenge myself to become a professional. I hope that Chiba University of Commerce will continue to be a university that continues to take on challenges.

I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to Chiba University of Commerce on celebrating its 90th anniversary this year.
The Japan Federation of Certified Public Tax Accountants' Associations donated a course to your university from 2012 to 2014. The Japan Federation of Certified Public Tax Accountants' Associations donated courses to universities across the country with the concept of creating an attractive tax accountant system for young people who will lead the next generation. In the course at CUC, alumni tax accountants served as lecturers.
Additionally, I serve as a member of the advisory board established for the Graduate School of Accounting and Graduate School of Accounting & Finance, MBA Program. Furthermore, we have deepened our ties with your university through the signing of a comprehensive agreement in February 2013 with the local Chiba Prefectural Certified Public Tax Accountants Association to promote human resource development and community contribution activities centered on tax education.
Your university places particular emphasis on career education for obtaining the tax accountant qualification, and has produced many tax accountants. I hope that by further strengthening the good relationship between your university and the Tax Accountants Association, the number of tax accountants graduating from CUC will continue to increase, and I wish CUC further development.

Tomohito Kumino

Congratulations on your 90th anniversary.
I have been working as a senior staff member of Kids Business Town® (KBT) Ichikawa for three years. Through this activity, I was able to enrich and improve my communication skills by interacting with many people, including children, parents, staff, and teachers.
Furthermore, children are energetic and innocent, and sometimes they face dangerous situations or have to respond instantly, so judgment is important and I was able to develop the ability to assess things.
When I entered university, I was thinking, "I want to do volunteer work!" and was invited by a senior to join KBT Ichikawa. At first, I just thought, "I want to have fun with the kids!" However, I was impressed by how my seniors planned things for the "children" rather than for themselves, thinking about how to make the event successful and how to make sure the children could have fun safely. And so, I had a strong desire to "provide a better KBT Ichikawa!"
With this feeling in mind, I served as the representative for the 16th KBT Ichikawa, and was able to see it through to the end for the sake of the children's smiles.
I am truly grateful for the cooperation and support of so many people that has allowed me to carry out my activities over the past three years.
I would like to cherish the little time I have left as a student at Chiba University of Commerce where I can gain and experience many valuable experiences.

After graduating from Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, Department of Commerce in March 1992, he worked for a company for 2005 before being appointed to Faculty of Service Innovation in 2010, and has served as Dean since April 2017.

Faculty of Service Innovation was established in 2009 as the third faculty of our university, the Faculty of Business Human Resource Development, which aims to develop human resources who will be active in a variety of business fields. The curriculum is characterized by categorizing the business mind, diverse knowledge, skills, and abilities required in business into two major categories: "service mind" and "service thinking ability," and allowing students to acquire these skills. Moreover, this was thoroughly based on the "logic of students and society," rather than the "logic of faculty and university."

This year marks the 10th year since the establishment of the faculty, and we have worked to verbalize the tacit knowledge (tacit common understanding) related to the operation of the faculty to date, and have established the faculty vision of "Idea and realization of new services." We will strive to produce talent (service creation talent) who can conceive and realize new services by utilizing the aforementioned "service mind" and "service thinking ability." To achieve this, faculty and staff will also conceive and realize new services for society at large through research and corporate collaboration. The upcoming 100th anniversary of the founding of the university will mark the 20th year since the establishment of Faculty of Service Innovation. The faculty and staff will continue to work hard to operate the faculty so that Faculty of Service Innovation, which has now reached the age of "20 = adulthood," will be a faculty that conceives and produces talent who can realize new services and contribute to the development of our alma mater.

Congratulations on your 90th anniversary. We offer our heartfelt congratulations.

Since 2016, I have been participating in the inauguration ceremonies and report sessions of students' short-term overseas training programs as a member of the Faculty of Global Studies Faculty Evaluation Committee. Although the study abroad program lasts for about two months, the students leave with a mission in mind, and despite encountering troubles and homesickness, they return home with a variety of experiences and a bright, confident look on their faces. I feel happy and envious as if it were my own achievement, and I look forward to each report session.

In addition, at J:COM Ichikawa, we broadcast programs produced by students in the network broadcasting project on the local community channel. We provide advice on program production and technical aspects, but the content is mostly about the city, people, and history of Ichikawa City, and is enjoyed by many Ichikawa residents. We are grateful to have been able to be involved in the "intercultural exchange" and "community-based" activities that are part of the "active learning" that Chiba University of Commerce is working on throughout the university, and we would like to offer our congratulations and pray that the university will continue to produce global talent and make further leaps forward.

I am truly happy and deeply moved to have been able to be involved as a faculty member in this memorable 90th anniversary year of Chiba University of Commerce.
In my years working in the field of education, when I think about the changing image of students, I realize that while fashions and clothing change with the times, the free and easy-going spirit that students possess remains constant, and I continue to receive fresh inspiration from them.

I want students to value two perspectives when they enter university. The first is what university can give them. It is important to think seriously about what they should study to become a valuable member of society, and to select their classes in a planned manner. The second is to explore how they can contribute to society in the future.

At university, various active learning projects are carried out in parallel with classes. I think it is important to actively participate in these projects in order to clarify your role in the real world.

As Chiba University of Commerce continues from its 90th anniversary to its 100th anniversary, I hope that it will continue to develop as a university that practices education that respects practical learning and cultivates talented people who can contribute to Japan and the world.

I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to Chiba University of Commerce on celebrating its 90th anniversary.
The first time I visited Chiba University of Commerce was during the school festival in 2013. Seeing the students who will lead the future with their eyes sparkling and enjoying their youth, I was filled with anticipation.

At the end of his book "My Resume," Professor Philip Kotler, a leading authority on marketing, redefines the purpose of marketing as "to improve society" and proposes that the next field of marketing studies is social business. In this field, elderly medical care, welfare, and nursing care are the most public-interest fields, and are also the fastest growing service industries. Students studying at Chiba University of Commerce will likely be working in this field, regardless of the field they choose to work in.

The Koyama Medical Welfare Corporation Group, which I represent, consists of 29 medical corporations, welfare corporations, and corporations, and operates 520 business locations, from hospitals to nursing homes. Every year, about 400 employees obtain care worker certification. In fact, the Koyama Group is not only a facility management group, but also Japan's largest care worker training school. Our group will develop a Japanese-style medical collaboration home in Shanghai. Local trainees will be educated by the Koyama Group, so the staff will experience an international community. It is also an opportunity to establish their identity as Japanese. Medicine is science and care is culture. As globalization progresses, you will learn the basics of humanity and society and open up a future where you can create new value without being bound by preconceived notions.

As Chiba University of Commerce continues to move forward toward its 100th and 150th anniversaries, I hope that it will continue to cultivate virtuous businesspeople who are not bound by preconceived notions and who will create new value.

In a limited time of four years
Student Government Association Executive Committee Chairman

I was able to learn and acquire many skills through my four years on the Student Council Executive Committee. I was able to learn and absorb the creativity required to come up with a plan, the ability to think and act while looking ahead, and presentation skills to convey my thoughts and feelings to as many people as possible in a nearly 100% way.

University is a different environment from high school, and each individual must freely pursue what they want to learn.
When I thought about what I was lacking and what kind of person I wanted to become, I decided that I wanted to join the Executive Committee. My seniors were excellent at expressing their opinions clearly, taking action, and observing their surroundings, and working together with them, I felt an increasing desire to "try to do more!" and "change myself!" I believe that by joining the Executive Committee, I have taken a big step closer to becoming the kind of person I had in mind at the time.
I was also able to fulfill my role as the chairperson of the executive committee without any problems, thanks to the help of the faculty and staff. I will put to use what I have learned over the past four years in my own way in society.
I hope that Chiba University of Commerce will continue to develop and that as many students as possible will take a new step forward.

Congratulations on the 90th anniversary of Chiba University of Commerce.
Your school's founding spirit is based on the respect for practical learning that is useful to society and the educational philosophy of cultivating "chidoka." Based on this, you have contributed to society by educating many practitioners and producing numerous entrepreneurs and managers.

In addition, the school has traditionally focused on accounting education and has created an excellent environment for nurturing tax accountants and other accounting practitioners. Even though the number of students taking the bookkeeping certification exam and tax accountant exam is decreasing nationwide, the school has achieved five consecutive team victories at the National Inter-University Bookkeeping Championship through enthusiastic instruction that emphasizes practical studies, and the number of students passing the tax accountant exam is steadily increasing.

In 2012, the Chiba Prefectural Certified Public Tax Accountants' Association recommended a course donated by the Japan Federation of Certified Public Tax Accountants' Associations, and in 2013 we concluded a comprehensive partnership agreement with them. Since then, we have built a good relationship through co-hosting the My Number Forum and receiving their cooperation in our training programs. We would like to further strengthen our relationship and contribute to society together, so we appreciate your continued support.

In closing, I would like to offer my congratulations and best wishes for the continued development of Chiba Gakuen Educational Corporation and Chiba University of Commerce, and ask that you continue to produce fresh talent for our tax accountant industry.

Congratulations on the 90th anniversary of Chiba University of Commerce.

I have been involved with Chiba University of Commerce for six years. During my active years, I gave lectures and talk shows in front of students as a guest speaker. Currently, since 2015, I have been Specially Appointed Lecturer at Faculty of Global Studies, and I am in charge of four lectures a year. Compared to my student days, students today are very serious, and I am impressed by how they listen to my classes seriously. The most difficult thing about my job after retiring from active competition is that I cannot teach lies in class. It is easy to talk about my own experiences, but I cannot say anything wrong about what will become students' knowledge, so I am also busy preparing my classes. When I took on Specially Appointed Lecturer position, I remember saying that I would do my best to grow together with the students, but I am working hard to make teaching my path and to be proud of it when I look back on it.

The same goes for students. Your alma mater becomes your brand name, something you carry with you for the rest of your life. That brand name will be seen for better or worse depending on your actions. Everyone is involved in the development of the university and increasing its brand value. This will not change while you are a student, or even after you graduate. Look back on your time as a student and be proud of the path you have walked and your alma mater.

Congratulations on the 90th anniversary of Chiba University of Commerce. I would like to express my respect for the efforts of our predecessors, and my heartfelt congratulations to the current Chairman of the Board Harada, President, and all the faculty and staff. We view this as a milestone on the way to our 100th anniversary, and I am confident that even in these difficult times of declining birthrates, we will be able to embrace a brilliant new era by upholding our university's philosophy.

I graduated from the Department of Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration Department of Economics in 1982, and currently serve as the vice president of the CUC Management Council, and am involved with the university. At the time, it was a single-discipline university, but as an alumnus, I am very pleased and proud of its recent development. Currently, Hanamaki Onsen Co., Ltd., where I work, has just celebrated its 90th anniversary, and I feel a certain connection to the university.

Our industry, the tourism industry, is also facing the headwinds of a declining birthrate and an aging population, and I believe it is in the same environment as school management. This is both a crisis and an opportunity, and I would like to offer my congratulations and pray that you will make further leaps forward in the midst of globalization.

Congratulations to Chiba University of Commerce on its 90th anniversary, a university that continues to grow and proactively tackle cutting-edge issues.

Chiba University of Commerce has produced many pioneers as a business university. It has also earned the trust of many high school students and has provided satisfaction to its students. In recent years, it has established various faculties with the aim of becoming a comprehensive liberal arts university. I am deeply impressed by this spirit of challenge and single-minded attitude toward education, which I believe is the result of the continued existence of the founding spirit of the university's founder, Dr. Ryukichi Endo.

The world is going to change dramatically in the coming AI and Booka era. It is said that many jobs will disappear. But we must not be discouraged; on the contrary, it is an opportunity to create many jobs and is full of hope. I am confident that the founding spirit and spirit of challenge that live on in Chiba University of Commerce will continue to produce human resources who can thrive in the AI and Booka eras. I hope that Chiba University of Commerce will continue to develop education that benefits students, Japan, and the earth, and that it will continue to grow as a university.

We would like to offer our heartfelt congratulations Chiba University of Commerce as it celebrates its 90th anniversary in May 2018.

I have been working in the front office of professional baseball teams for about 30 years, and from 2004 to 2012 I served as the president and representative of the Chiba Lotte Marines. During that time, Chiba University of Commerce supported us in many ways, such as sponsoring games, and we walked together. During that time, the Chiba Lotte Marines were able to achieve results in many areas, such as stadium reform, fan service, and team strengthening. In 2005, we won the Pacific League for the first time in 31 years and became the best in Japan, and in 2010, we rose from third place in the league to become the best in Japan, and it is no exaggeration to say that these achievements, which will remain in the history of professional baseball, were the result of our cooperation with Chiba University of Commerce.

I hope that Chiba University of Commerce will continue to make great contributions to the development of the economy, culture, sports, and other areas of Chiba Prefecture, Japan, and the world.

I realized the importance of "three languages" after I became a working adult. I want current students to master the basics, make the most of the opportunities they have, and work toward their goals.
Kazuma Wakaki, Faculty of Policy and Information Studies

When I enrolled in 2006, I often heard the term "three languages" around the campus. The three languages were English, accounting language, and programming language, and I was told that this was a slogan representing modern education, as opposed to the traditional education of reading, writing, and abacus.

It was only after I started working that I realized the importance of these three languages, but fortunately, the curriculum was set up so that I would naturally acquire a minimum level of knowledge in these three languages by the time I graduated. On a personal note, I believe that it was thanks to this that I was able to gain knowledge and know-how to a practical level without much difficulty.

Also, when I talk to current students, I feel that there are more opportunities to learn now than back then. For example, back then, it was difficult to find opportunities to learn English on campus. Now, however, they invite students from all over the world, and on the other hand, they can study abroad if they wish. As part of this program, the GPAC (Global Partnership for Asian Students Exchange), which has existed since back then, continues to live on at our alma mater, and as an alumnus, I am happy that it is planned to be held at our university on the 90th anniversary.

I hope that current students will master the basics, make the most of every opportunity available, and work hard towards their goals. As an alumnus of this university, I will continue to support you in whatever way I can.

I have heard that the founding philosophy of Chiba University of Commerce is to cultivate "chidoka thinkers" who have the ability to see things broadly, respond flexibly to change, and make appropriate decisions to solve problems based on high ethical standards.

Japan is currently experiencing a declining birthrate, aging population, and population decline at an unprecedented rate, and in 2011, a massive earthquake and nuclear accident occurred. The world is facing many problems, including climate change due to global warming, the environment, energy, poverty, and regional conflicts. In times like these, the role of chidoka is highly valued.

Professor Shahar of Herbert University held a seminar on "Living Better" for eight students in 2002, and four years later, 855 students attended. The content of the seminar included teaching students that happiness is the value of life, that action is important, that they can accept facts and criticism, that mistakes and failures are elements of success, and so on, and taught them the knowledge to understand the world around them and deal with situations well, thus nurturing human resources who can fulfill themselves and contribute to society. In short, the world's most cutting-edge university is making an effort to nurture people who are good at chidoka. It seems that schools that teach how to learn and live in this way will flourish in the future.

The other day, I attended an international exchange meeting with two students from Leshan and the couple who took care of them. The lovely couple, who are refreshing, humble, and trusted and adored by the students of Rakuyama, were graduates of Chiba University of Commerce. Other graduates I know are excellent people. I feel that there is a bright light in the future of Chiba University of Commerce, which is said to be a living advertising tower, sending out human resources (graduates) into the world, the employment rate is close to 100%, and the number of presidents is outstanding among other universities.

I am Ishii, the chairman of the CUC Management Council. Congratulations on the 90th anniversary of the founding of Chiba University of Commerce. I believe that the continuous development based on the founding spirit of Doctor of Literature, Dr. Endo Ryukichi, is due to the efforts of Chairman of the Board, President, and many other professors, and looking at the achievements of our alumni, I believe that Chiba University of Commerce is here. Looking back at history, about 70 years ago, there was an unfortunate war, and it was education and the efforts of the students who studied there that allowed us to rise from the ruins and contribute to the development of Japan. The situation is changing, and it is clear that with the declining birthrate and aging population, there will be a shortage of human resources in all industries. And in a situation where it is difficult to attract students, the first medium-term management plan was formulated and the entire university is working on various reforms, which I believe will be an example for other universities.

I have heard that the number of new students for the 2017 academic year will be 1,647, far exceeding the 1,400 students we were looking to recruit. I am very happy about this. I believe that a major factor in this is the shift from a single-discipline university to a comprehensive university.

Although we, the CUC Management Council, are a new organization, we are determined to support the university, accept graduates, and support students who want to become entrepreneurs, with your help. We wish Chiba University of Commerce even greater success.

I started studying bookkeeping and accounting at a commercial high school, and during that process, I became interested in the field of accounting. Wanting to study accounting in more depth, I enrolled in Chiba University of Commerce. It was at this time that I also decided to join Mizuho-kai, which offers free study support and lectures on the Nissho Bookkeeping Examination and the Tax Accountant Examination during the open campus before enrollment.

After entering university, I joined Mizuho-kai and aimed to pass the Nissho Bookkeeping Examination Level 1 while also taking university classes. I attended school almost every day during long vacations, and although there were days when I found it mentally tough, I continued studying with the sole desire to pass. As a result, I was able to pass, and I am deeply grateful to the teachers who enthusiastically taught us.

At the National Inter-University Bookkeeping Competition, which we participated in as Mizuho-kai, we were able to take first place in both the individual and team competitions by utilizing the knowledge and skills we had learned. It made me realize once again how good it was to continue studying every day. It was also a great experience to be able to share the joy with my friends. Chiba University of Commerce provides support for obtaining qualifications other than the Nissho Bookkeeping Examination and the Tax Accountant Examination, so I would like to try to obtain other qualifications in the future.

Congratulations on your 90th anniversary. We offer our heartfelt congratulations.

I served as an Education Supporters Association officer for one year and as its president for three years, during which I experienced the charm of CUC firsthand and was filled with many moving and fond memories.

In response to social change, CUC has been establishing new faculties one after another and working on a wide range of education, but with the motto of "practical learning," there are a wide variety of programs available that allow students to firmly acquire "socially applicable skills." My son (a 2016 graduate Faculty of Service Innovation) also started working at a hotel this year, and what he learned in the university's "project" seems to be very useful, and even though he is a new employee, he has been entrusted with a large amount of planning and management of hotel events.

In addition to their academic studies, CUC has many students who have achieved excellent results in national competitions in sports or special skills, and who are involved in activities that contribute to the local community, and the Education Support Association is expanding its support for students.

I sincerely hope that CUC will continue to grow through the synergy between "university x students x parents" and continue to be a university that makes great contributions to society, and I would like to remain a supporter of CUC as an alumni parent forever.
