On the occasion of the launch of the Center, the symposium described above was held on September 30, 2023, at the AP Nihonbashi Hall. The theme of the symposium was "Toward a Future Design Synthesizing the Social Sciences," and the future research efforts of Chiba University of Commerce were presented.

The first part of the symposium featured three lectures. Toward Integration of Social Sciences - What are Digital Social Experiments?", Takao Terano, the director of the Center, introduced that the approach of integrating social and natural sciences, which is the goal of CUC Research Institute, is essential in solving recent social problems, and that digital social experiments conducted on a computer are important for this purpose. The importance of digital social experiments conducted on computers was also introduced. Next, "Research Center for Sustainability" Head ・Hidemitsu Sasaya discussed the importance of research, collaboration, and dissemination utilizing the SDGs under the title of "SDGs Management to Achieve Co-Creation Advantage. Finally, "Ryukichi Endo Research Center" Head ・Jun Zhao took us on a journey to discover the best of "Endo-ism"! and reported on the achievements of the University's founder, Takayoshi Endo, and the significance of studying him.

In the second part, Mr. Kaoru Endo, an emeritus Professor of Gakushuin University and an authority on sociology, and Ms. Naoko Hamashima, an expert on biodiversity mainstreaming Manager of the Nature Conservation Bureau, Ministry of the Environment, were invited as guests Vice President and moderated by Ms. Takako Hashimoto. Based on these presentations, we intend to continue our future research together with people inside and outside the university, transcending existing academic fields.
