Research Center for Sustainability

Message from the Director

研究所長

The word sustainability literally means "ability to continue," and its scope has expanded from the global environment, which was the initial focus, to include society in both a broad and narrow sense, various systems, various organizations, and other areas. Research and activities on social issues, such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) (adopted at the United Nations Summit in 2015), which are said to be the reason why sustainability has become widely known, are also being widely conducted.

The Institute will promote a wide range of research activities related to sustainability, focusing on advancing research on sustainability and collaborating with various institutions and researchers.

Research Center for Sustainability Purpose

Research Center for Sustainability was established with the objectives of comprehensively building theories for various issues, such as solving problems for society as a whole, considering sustainability as necessary for corporate management and organizational operations, responding to ESG demands from investors, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the United Nations, and implementing the Corporate Governance Code, forming networks both within and outside the university, and effectively disseminating research results.
