Message from the Director
Chiba University of Commerce Research Center for Economics has contributed to the development of academic research in various fields of social science since its establishment in 1988. Based on an interdisciplinary perspective that encompasses economics, business administration, political science, and sociology, the Institute has been carrying out research activities aimed at elucidating socio-economic phenomena and providing policy suggestions through theoretical and empirical approaches.
With the launch of CUC Research Institute in 2023, the Institute has been reorganized as a research organization whose core activity is the execution of research projects, embarking on a new era. As a result, we have established a system to further deepen academic knowledge and create social impact while inheriting the results of previous research.
Modern society is facing diverse and complex challenges, such as economic globalization, technological innovation, and demographic change, and the role that academic research must play in addressing these challenges is becoming increasingly important. At our institute, we strive to organically combine theoretical and empirical research based on an interdisciplinary approach, and to generate knowledge that contributes to the sustainable development of local and international communities.
In order to balance the social implementation of research results with academic contributions, collaboration with a variety of entities is essential. The Institute will promote collaboration with academia, industry, policymakers, and civil society, and strengthen its function as a platform for promoting the social utilization of academic knowledge. We appreciate your continued understanding and support.
