Director

Chiba University of Commerce CUC Research Institute was established in March 2023 as a cross-sectional organization that brings together research promotion organizations, based on Research Center for Economics established in 1988 and Research Center for Accounting established in 2012.

Currently, CUC Research Institute has five research institutes: Research Center for Economics, Research Center for Accounting, Ryukichi Endo Research Center Research Center for Sustainability Research Institute, and the Small and Medium Enterprise Management Research Institute. Each institute is affiliated with a total of 19 research projects (as of April 2025). In each activity, full-time faculty members of the University are at the core of the research, and in collaboration with researchers both inside and outside the University, they are conducting interdisciplinary research that transcends the boundaries of research fields, regardless of whether they are in the humanities or sciences. CUC Research Institute provides a place for researchers both inside and outside the University to conduct research. It aims to create a free and open research environment that transcends academic boundaries and find practical solutions to the challenges facing society.

The three things required of a university - education, research, and social contribution - are in a synergistic relationship. We believe that many of the research projects undertaken at this research center will contribute to solving various social issues and will be useful in practical education to develop human resources who continue to grow in a changing society. By returning the results of our research and education to society, we aim to become an academy that is needed by society. We hope that you will use this site to learn about the activities of each research institute and project. Chiba University of Commerce CUC Research Institute will continue its innovative research activities and contribute to the development of society. We sincerely ask for your continued support and cooperation.
