Research results
In 2023, project members will hold regular "Adam Smith Study Groups," discussing topics including Smith's own writings, as well as important secondary sources in Smith studies, and the works of David Hume and Adam Fergusson, who belonged to the same Scottish Enlightenment period as Smith. The group also considered the PPE (Philosophy, Political Science, and Economics) educational program introduced at Oxford University and Waseda University. The group also deepened its discussions by focusing on the public choice theory of former Waseda President Hiroshi Kato, and the relationship between PPE and the philosophy of the School of Policy and Information Studies, which was established based on President Kato's vision.
