I conducted research and surveys on Kato Hiroshi and Fukuzawa Yukichi. In the first year, I conducted literature research and visited Nakatsu, where Fukuzawa Yukichi spent his childhood, and conducted field surveys. In the second year, I continued my literature research and presented my research on Fukuzawa Yukichi at an international conference at the University of Economics in Bucharest. I also presented some of the results of my research on Fukuzawa Yukichi at an academic seminar held by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science at the University of Strasbourg. I was also able to present the results of these studies in the form of a paper.
