Project Purpose
This research project is a basic study conducted ahead of the 100th anniversary of the founding of Chiba University of Commerce, to examine the sociological research of Dr. Endo Ryukichi, the university's founder and sociologist, from the perspective of sociological history and theory, in order to clarify the position and significance that Endo played in the formation of sociology in Japan. This project will mainly focus on his sociological achievements in the early 1900s.
