Project Purpose

We have been researching "creating safe and secure cities and regions" from the perspective of "maintaining current functions" even in the event of a disaster. However, from a secondary perspective, we will study urban function development and maintenance methods to become "resilient cities" that can seize opportunities for development in cities threatened by sudden shocks such as "earthquakes, typhoons, and extreme heat," and chronic stresses such as "low birthrate and aging population, depopulation, and overcrowding," "recession, poverty, and disparity," and "crime and violence," and use these as a catalyst for transformation.
