A social welfare officer is a position placed in a local government welfare office. The qualifications required to be appointed as a social welfare officer are called the social welfare officer appointment qualifications, and they also apply mutatis mutandis to the qualifications of staff at private welfare facilities.
In Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, students who complete the three subjects required for qualification to be appointed as a social welfare officer (Introduction to Sociology, Introduction to Economics, and Psychology) will be eligible to be appointed as a "social welfare officer" immediately upon graduation.
*For students enrolled in 2019 and onwards, "Psychology" will be an elective subject.
