President Seminar

President Seminar, which has been running since 2007, prepares for the "GPAC" annual event, which brings together over 100 university students from Asian countries and regions. At this event, students can interact with top students from around the world, compete, and grow. Although students cannot earn credits from President Seminar, it is a valuable opportunity for growth for students who want to improve their English and presentation skills.

GPAC

President Seminar

GPAC is an abbreviation for Global Partnership of Asian Colleges, and is an event where students from Asian countries and regions, such as Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, and Israel, deepen their exchanges through research presentations and discussions on international issues, with English as the official language. Students form international collaborative teams, share information on the Internet by theme, and summarize their thoughts through repeated discussions, and finally make a presentation in English. The hosting school rotates, and from Chiba University of Commerce, students from President seminar are participating.

2024年度

President Seminar

The 2024 GPAC was held on August 25-26 at Seoul National University in Seoul, South Korea, and students from five universities in four countries, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Vietnam, participated. Seventeen students from the President Seminar participated from our university, and three teams presented papers in the inter-university presentation. One of these teams won the "Excellent Paper Award" in the Environment category. This is the first time that our university has won an award in a university group presentation. The title of the presentation was "Agri-Photovoltaics; Combining Agriculture and Power Generation for a Sustainable Future," and the students presented on the challenges of renewable energy in Japan and a proposal for solar power generation on farmland, citing our university's natural energy efforts and examples from Gunma Prefecture.

2020年度

President Seminar

Due to the impact of COVID-19, the 2020 GPAC was canceled at Seoul National University (South Korea), but Tokyo Metropolitan University and Chiba University of Commerce co-hosted an online event, "Online Asia Leadership Program: Asian Globalization and Its Reconstruction after the COVID-19 Pandemic." A group presentation by students from our university, "Green Tourism is the Sustainable Tourism of the Future, with and after the Coronavirus," won the Grand Prize.

2019年度

The 2019 GPAC was held from August 26th (Mon) to August 31st (Sat) at Vietnam National University in Hanoi, Vietnam, with 113 participants from seven universities in five countries and regions. Eleven students from our university participated as students of President Seminar, and three teams presented papers in the inter-university presentation. In the competition, which was a multinational team that transcended university boundaries, a student from our university was included in the final presentation team that won the preliminary round, demonstrating their outstanding performance.

GPAC2019

2018年度

The 2018 GPAC was held at Chiba University of Commerce from Sunday, August 26th to Saturday, September 1st, with 101 participants from seven universities in six countries and regions. From our university, 14 students from President seminar and 15 members of the operation staff participated, and three teams presented papers in the inter-university presentation. In the competition, which was a multinational team that transcended university boundaries, all of the winning teams in each topic category were made up of students from our university, demonstrating their outstanding performance.
