The history of our founding in 1928 and the challenge of creating new "knowledge"

December 10, 1927 Doctor of Literature Endo Takayoshi invested over 450,000 yen to establish the Sugamo Gakuen Foundation and applied for approval to establish Sugamo Higher Commercial School.
February 8, 1928 The establishment of Sugamo Higher Commercial School at 2603 Nishisugamo-cho, Tokyo Prefecture is approved by the Ministry of Education's Notification Nos. 51 and 52.
August 12, 1930 With the Ministry of Education Notification No. 193, Article 2 of the Ministry of Education Ordinance No. 3 of 1918 designates the school as equivalent to or above the higher division of a high school or a university preparatory school.
March 31, 1944 The school name change was approved and the school was renamed Sugamo College of Economics.
September 26, 1945 On April 14, 1945, the school building and all facilities were destroyed in the war and the school was relocated to 1971 Saginuma, Tsudanuma-cho, Chiba Prefecture.
August 1, 1946 The change of school location to 373, Konodai, Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture was approved.
April 1, 1950 A new Chiba University of Commerce will be established as the School of Commerce Department of Commerce.
March 7, 1951 In January 1951, the Sugamo Gakuen Foundation was approved for reorganization into the Chiba Gakuen School Corporation.
April 1, 1951 Chiba Junior College is opened.
March 30, 1955 The name of the faculty was changed to Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration and Economics, and Department of Economics was opened.
March 31, 1955 Sugamo College of Economics will be abolished.
April 1, 1964 The Department of Department of Business Administration the Faculty Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration is established.
April 1, 1977 The Graduate Graduate School of Commerce opens a Master's degree program in Commerce.
April 1, 1979 The Graduate School of Economics opens a Master's degree program in Economics.
April 1, 1988 Research Center for Economics will be established.
April 1, 2000 The Faculty of Policy and Information Studies, Department of Policy Informatics is established.
April 1, 2000 The Graduate School of Policy Studies opens a doctoral program in policy studies.
April 1, 2004 The Graduate School of Policy Informatics opens a master's degree program in policy information.
April 1, 2005 The Graduate School of Accounting & Finance, opens a professional degree program in accounting and finance.
December 1, 2005 Chiba Junior College will be abolished.
April 1, 2009 Faculty of Service Innovation Department of Service Innovation is established.
April 1, 2012 Establish Research Center for Accounting.
April 1, 2014 Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is established in Department of Humanities and Social Sciences.
April 1, 2015 Faculty of Global Studies Department of Global Studies is established.
April 1, 2019 Platform for Arts and Sciences will be established.
April 1, 2020 The three graduate schools will be reorganized into one school, Graduate School of Commerce with a Master's degree in Commerce.
March 1, 2023 In addition to the existing Research Center for Economics and Research Center for Accounting, Ryukichi Endo Research Center and Research Center for Sustainability will be added, and CUC Research Institute will be established to oversee each of the institutes.
April 1, 2024 The Small and Medium Enterprise Management Research Institute will be established within CUC Research Institute.
April 1, 2025 We will stop recruiting students for Department of Economics Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration Economics, Department of Policy Informatics in the Faculty of Policy Informatics, and the Department of Global Studies in the Faculty of International Faculty of Global Studies, and will open the Department Department of Economics and Department of Policy Informatics Faculty of Policy Planning and Management of Policy Management.
