2014年 Professor Harashina was appointed Dean. From the spring of 2014, a joint seminar was held by the Harashina, Ayukawa, and Sugimoto Takuya seminars, with members of the non-profit organization Eco League also participating.
As a result of this activity, it was estimated that the electricity generated by the Mega Solar Noda Power Plant would account for over 60% of the total electricity consumed by the university at the time. Professor Harashina (at the time) announced this result and expressed his intention, as Dean, to aim for the university to be 100% powered by natural energy.
April 2014 The Noda Mega Solar Power Plant began a solar power generation business, selling electricity to Tokyo Electric Power Company under the government's FIT scheme, which supports the introduction of renewable energy.
