What programs are available?
We offer a variety of programs, including exchange programs, language training, and on-campus international exchange programs. For details, please see the Overseas Programs page.
What languages can you learn?
Chiba University of Commerce offers programs to study English, Chinese, and Korean.
I'm not confident in my foreign language skills...
For those who are not good at foreign languages, we also have programs where you can have international exchange in Japanese, such as intercultural experience exchange tours and Japanese language programs at the CUC Summer Program. Please feel free to contact International Division.
I've never been abroad...
For programs such as language training and exchange studies, you will have to prepare through several orientations before you leave, so even first-timers can feel at ease. For those who are going abroad for the first time, we recommend language training programs (2-3 weeks) during the summer and spring holidays and cross-cultural experience exchange tours.
When should I start preparing for language training or an exchange program?
Since it depends on the program, please come and consult with International Division as soon as you think of applying. Please check notices or the website for the application period for each program.
What language skills are required to apply?
It depends on the program, but some allow you to participate from beginner level. Anyone who is motivated to study can apply. However, if you decide to participate, you should plan your language studies well in advance of your departure.
What is the selection process for language training and exchange students?
After you submit the necessary documents, we will conduct an interview. The interview will be conducted primarily in the language used at the training site.
What is included in the cost of participating in language training/study abroad?
This varies depending on the program, so please check the application requirements.
Are there any programs that offer credit?
In some language training programs, students are required to submit a certificate of completion or a report, and credits are awarded after an examination. In addition, in exchange programs, it is possible to transfer credits in some subjects.
Will I have to repeat a year if I study abroad?
Studying abroad through Chiba University of Commerce 's exchange program does not mean you are taking a leave of absence. Therefore, studying abroad does not necessarily mean you will have to repeat a year. You will be considered to be "enrolled" during your exchange program.
However, if you take a leave of absence to study abroad on your own, your graduation date will be delayed by the period of your leave of absence. Please be sure to consult with Student Division and International Division in advance.
I am also considering studying abroad or doing a working holiday. Can you give me some advice?
International Division also has a wide range of information about individual study abroad and working holidays. Please feel free to contact us for more information.
