Foreign Student Learning Incentive Fee

This is a scholarship for self-financed international students provided by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO).

Monthly payment

Undergraduate/Graduate School: 48,000 yen

About the Application

The university has a quota for recommendations. The selection process involves an examination of academic performance and financial situation.

  • Application period: Mid-April. Posted in International Division and on CUC PORTAL.

Requests to recipients

Confirmation of recipient's enrollment
Please note that payments will not be made to those whose enrollment cannot be confirmed each month. Please sign the "Enrollment Verification Book" within the designated period.

Regarding termination of benefits
If your grades begin to decline, you lose motivation to study, or you have frequent absences during the period you are receiving the grant, your benefits will be terminated immediately, so please make sure to study diligently.

There are scholarships provided to self-financed international students by private companies and organizations. The recruitment of various scholarships will be announced on the bulletin board for International Division each time. Tuition Reduction and Exemption System for Privately Financed International Students

This is a system in which the university provides annual tuition reductions and exemptions to privately funded international students after an internal selection process based on university regulations.
Students eligible for the reduction/exemption will have the corresponding tuition fee waived when they pay their fall semester tuition fees (students who enrolled in the fall semester will have the reduction/exemption in the spring semester).

  1. * Not all privately funded international students are eligible for the exemption.
  2. * The amount of tuition reduction will be determined in accordance with Chiba University of Commerce (Graduate School) Tuition Reduction Regulations for Privately Financed International Students.
  3. * For inquiries regarding tuition fee reductions, please contact International Division.
  4. Recruitment period

    Spring semester enrollees: Announcement will be made on the CUC PORTAL around mid-June.
    For Fall semester enrollees: Announcement will be made on the CUC PORTAL around mid-November.
