Based on our founding principles, our university has established the following three policies (Diploma Policy, Curriculum Policy, and Admission Policy).
Diploma Policy
Purpose of the school
Recognize the order of seniority without regard for ability, look up to the light of character without doing anything, fear the way of heaven and follow the way of human ethics. Look upon mankind as one and promote its prosperity, study useful academic subjects and cultivate a simple and honest spirit, and fulfill your calling where appropriate.
Founding spirit
Today, the decline of business morality is extremely chilling. The slump in foreign trade is ultimately the result of this. Therefore, it must be said that it is of the utmost urgency to instill business morality in those who wish to become businessmen, and in particular to instill in them the warrior spirit.
Based on the spirit of our founding, our educational philosophy is to cultivate "chidoka" (people who practice the arts) as advocated by our founder Ryukichi Endo through "practical education." We will certify the graduation of students who have acquired the following abilities and earned the required credits, and award them a degree.
chidoka is a leader with a strong sense of ethics who can take a broad perspective, grasp the changes of the times, and solve various social problems.
High ethical standards
A sense of mission and morality to identify real-world problems and proactively work to solve them
Wide-ranging education
Universal knowledge and communication skills to develop the rich humanity necessary to quickly respond to changes in the real world and collaborate with a diverse range of people
Specialized knowledge and skills
Useful and advanced specialized skills to identify and solve real-world problems
Our university uses the diploma policy as the starting point for ensuring the quality of our education, and strives to continually reform and improve our education based on our founding principles and the needs of society.

Curriculum Policy (Policy for organizing and implementing the curriculum)
Based on the spirit of our founding, our educational philosophy is to cultivate "chidoka" (people who practice the arts) as advocated by our founder, Ryukichi Endo, through "practical education." In order to achieve our diploma policy, we have systematically organized and implemented the following curriculum.
chidoka is a leader who has a strong sense of ethics and can see things from a broad perspective, grasp the changes of the times, and solve various social problems. Our curriculum emphasizes practical learning and fosters practical skills through collaboration with the real world and active learning.
As stated in the diploma policy, all students are expected to have high ethical standards and a broad range of knowledge, and common knowledge is acquired as part of basic education in the first year of university life. From the second year onwards, the focus is on full-scale education in specialized knowledge and skills, while fostering a sense of ethics.
In addition, we will implement the "CUC Advanced Program" which allows students to learn cutting-edge fields across disciplines.
Within this framework, the university has established the following curriculum policy:
Basic Education
Starting from the first year, students from all faculties will receive a basic education divided into the following fields that will enable them to acquire broad-based knowledge and high ethical standards as stipulated in the diploma policy.
- CUC Basics:
CUC Basic is positioned as a seminar education (exercise) for first-year students, and is a field in which students can understand the purpose and spirit of the university's founding, which is the foundation of our university, develop a sense of ethics, improve their communication skills and practical skills, and acquire the basic skills for university learning. - General Studies:
In addition to humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, this field provides a wide range of education, including ethics, SDGs, and information technology. - Three languages* (natural language, information language, accounting language): A field for understanding diversity and improving communication skills in modern society
*The three languages referred to at our university are natural language (foreign languages and Japanese), information language (IT skills), and accounting language (bookkeeping and accounting). - Lifelong Care (Health Care, Career):
A field where students can acquire basic knowledge to enrich their lives, such as lifelong health management, career development, and financial literacy.
CUC Advanced Program
We will develop and implement programs that transcend the specialties of individual faculties and provide cutting-edge education in response to social changes and new research themes. Specifically, we will develop university-wide programs in interdisciplinary and cutting-edge fields such as global education and data science education.
Specialized Education
In order to systematically and gradually acquire the specialized knowledge and skills required to identify and solve problems in the real world, introductory subjects are provided in each department, and courses are established from the second year onwards.
Students select and complete one course within their department. Students who wish to further their studies can also complete courses in the CUC Advanced Program or courses in their own or other faculties. Students who meet certain conditions can also be recognized as minor courses.
Seminar education
In the first year, a seminar-style (exercise) course is set up as part of the basic education course CUC Basic, and education is provided in a cross-departmental class format to acquire the basics of learning and transition to specialized research. This allows students to acquire an independent attitude toward learning at our university.
In the second year, students will attend lectures and basic faculty seminars (exercises) to acquire the basic knowledge of each faculty's specialty, which will lead to research seminars from the third year onwards.
From the third year, all faculty members at our university conduct research seminars in their individual fields of expertise, allowing students to acquire advanced specialized knowledge and skills in greater depth. In research seminars, students will accumulate team activities, group discussions, and presentations to develop the ability to identify problems, conduct research and analysis, search for solutions, and put them into practice, culminating their university studies in preparation for graduation.
Furthermore, at our university, the knowledge and skills to be acquired in each subject are listed in the syllabus, learning outcomes are evaluated according to the evaluation methods and standards listed in the syllabus, and the relationships between subjects are visualized, enabling students to take and study in a systematic manner.
In order to enhance students' active learning, we aim to increase the study time per subject by setting an upper limit on the number of subjects that can be registered, and for students who have not acquired a certain level of credits, we will understand and improve their learning outcomes through interviews, etc. In order to achieve our diploma policy, our university places an important position on the organization and implementation of the educational course, and strives to constantly reform and improve university education in line with the curriculum policy.

Basic Policy for the Selection of Incoming Students
General Selection will be primarily based on a scholastic aptitude test intended to determine whether candidates possess the appropriate knowledge and skills to enroll in the undergraduate degree program at the university (general comprehension, mathematical ability, capacity for expression, linguistic ability). The level of questions in the test will be in line with high school classes. A wide range of topics will be covered for assessing whether the candidates have accurately understood what they learned up to high school. In the Comprehensive Selection, Selection by School Recommendation, and Special Selection, candidates will be selected on the basis of interviews and document screenings to assess their desire and ability to acquire the qualities required by the university. For all selection methods, the decision will be partly based on the review of screening documents such as records of learning progress and extracurricular activities in high school. Overall academic performance may be included among the application requirements.
