Starting August 1, 2019, we will gradually switch to electricity derived from renewable energy, mainly FIT electricity from the Noda Mega Solar Power Plant owned by Minna-Denryoku Co., Ltd. (CEO: Eiji Oishi) in Noda City, Chiba Prefecture. Specifically, we will aim to use renewable energy, mainly FIT electricity from the Noda Mega Solar Power Plant owned by our university.
This means that 100% of the electricity purchased at the Ichikawa campus will be from renewable energy sources.
Image of renewable energy usage
- FIT electricity from the Noda Mega Solar Power Plant is supplied wholesale to Minna-Denryoku via the Tokyo Electric Power Company Power Grid.
- By using Minna-denryoku's blockchain P2P electricity traceability system, it will be possible to prove that FIT electricity from the Noda Mega Solar Power Plant is being supplied to our university's Ichikawa campus. Any shortfall in electricity will be made up with other FIT electricity or renewable energy (wind, biomass, etc.), and a tracking-enabled non-fossil certificate will ensure 100% renewable energy utilization.
