Based on the founding spirit, the educational philosophy of the school is to cultivate "chidoka" as advocated by the founder, Takayoshi Endo, through practical education.

Graduate School of Accounting & Finance, Professional Degree Program awards degrees to students who have acquired a high sense of ethics, broad general knowledge, and specialized knowledge and skills, and who have earned the required credits.
We strive to cultivate individuals who possess specialized knowledge in accounting, taxation, and finance, who have the academic and practical skills of a highly skilled professional, and who have the ability to contribute to the development of the economy and society with a strong sense of professional ethics. We also aim to cultivate individuals who continuously engage in self-improvement to maintain and enhance their expertise as highly skilled professionals and who can fully utilize their abilities.

Based on its founding principles, this university's educational philosophy is to cultivate "chidoka" as advocated by its founder, Ryukichi Endo, through "practical education." Students who acquire the following abilities and earn the required credits will be certified as having completed their studies and will be awarded a degree. A "chidoka" refers to "a leader with a high sense of ethics who takes a broad perspective, grasps the changes of the times, and solves various social problems."

  • In the tax profession, emphasis is placed on tax law, and the ability to analyze and explore numerous precedents and academic theories, as well as to make accurate judgments and solve problems in practice, is essential.

Curriculum Policy (Policy for organizing and implementing the curriculum)

In order to achieve the diploma policy, Graduate School of Accounting & Finance, Professional Degree Program will organize and implement its curriculum based on the following principles.

  1. To foster the high level of professional ethics and acquire the specialized knowledge and skills necessary for highly skilled professionals in accounting, taxation, and finance, lectures corresponding to each course will be conducted systematically and progressively.
  2. We will provide appropriate educational content tailored to each course, and establish a system that allows students to complete the necessary courses for a professional master's degree within the standard completion period.
  3. The criteria for certification of completion of professional master's degree programs will be clearly defined for each course, and learning outcomes will be evaluated and credits recognized in accordance with the degree awarding policy.

To achieve the educational objectives, three courses will be offered as part of the curriculum.

The Accounting Profession Course emphasizes accounting subjects related to finance and management, as well as auditing theory. It provides a systematic learning experience of the essence of Japanese accounting and auditing, from fundamentals to advanced concepts and applications, and is also compliant with IFRS. A wide range of subjects and faculty members with practical experience enhance understanding of corporate accounting and auditing practices. For thesis writing, experienced faculty members guide students to reach the level of a research paper.

The Tax Profession Course emphasizes tax law subjects while simultaneously training tax professionals by providing a broad and comprehensive education in related knowledge. In thesis writing, experienced instructors guide students to ensure high-level content. When studying a wide range of subjects, students analyze and explore numerous precedents and academic theories, acquiring not only theoretical knowledge but also the ability to make accurate judgments and solve problems in practice.

The Finance Profession Course emphasizes subjects related to personal finance, providing instruction in the broad knowledge and professional ethics necessary to enable financial planners (FPs) to envision the future of individual clients. Practical and theoretical lectures incorporating the latest trends, taught by leading FP practitioners, provide education that lays the foundation for independence. Furthermore, the course covers macro and microeconomic theory, the current state and trends in finance and management, as well as statistical theory and techniques.

The curriculum consists of six areas: accounting, auditing, tax law, corporate law, management and finance, and related subjects.

Accounting

This program covers accounting from fundamentals to advanced applications, providing a systematic education in accounting. It comprises the fields of financial accounting and management accounting, and offers practical education to cultivate problem-solving skills.

Audit Theory

In addition to accounting audits, which are central to audit theory, we provide a broad education that will also cover accounting ethics, IT audits, and internal control audits.

Tax Law

The curriculum covers a wide range of subjects, from general principles of tax law to the details of each tax category, aiming to deepen students' understanding of the theoretical aspects of the system, such as its purpose, background, and history, while also fostering practical problem-solving skills.

Corporate Law

Corporate law aims to clarify the rules governing corporate operations and to ensure transparency in corporate activities. Education incorporates elements of commercial law, company law, and financial instruments and exchange law, which are also subjects covered in the certified public accountant examination.

Management and Finance

The aim is to provide a comprehensive education in the theory and practice of asset management. In addition to subjects concerning the content and characteristics of assets such as finance, real estate, and insurance, the curriculum broadly covers financial assets, including stocks, bonds, and new financial products. Furthermore, the economics and management curriculum includes education in macro and microeconomic theory, the current state and trends in finance and management, as well as statistical theory and techniques.

Related Subjects

The curriculum includes courses that teach the fundamental skills required in practical work for highly skilled accounting and finance professionals. It also provides education that enables students to utilize information technology in response to the information age and to acquire the fairness and ethics expected of highly skilled professionals.
