2024 "Graduation Exhibition" Works Introduction (Excerpt)
Period: February 19th (Wed) to 24th (Mon/Holiday), 2025
Venue: Kiuchi Gallery (Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture)
"A cold, dark night"
Haruki Yanai
(From regular high school)
I create my videos using After Effects, a software for digitally compositing video and motion graphics production, and I placed particular emphasis on expressing a "cold, dark" feel during filming and processing. Since I had previously produced horror videos, I aimed to master the techniques of adjusting color and light in order to get closer to my ideal color and expression for my graduation project.
"Package design that promotes the appeal of Sanmu City and its strawberries"
Reika Niimura
(Togane High School graduate)
In my seminar, I studied design related to the local community, so for my graduation project, I chose my hometown, Sanmu City, Chiba Prefecture, which was ranked last in the attractiveness rankings a few years ago. There are more than 20 varieties of strawberries, a local specialty, with a wide variety of flavors, so I created five different packages for each flavor, allowing you to choose a flavor depending on your mood or situation. I hope that in the future I can use the power of design to revitalize my hometown.
"GROUND-ZERO"
Suzuki Nagi
(Graduated from Senjodai High School)
Based on the theme of my own "freedom," I created a work inspired by Motojiro Kajii's short story "Lemon." Rather than just creating a video, I expressed the final scene of the novel in the entire space, allowing the viewer to virtually experience the protagonist of the novel. I had a hard time incorporating the story of the novel into the video, but I was able to incorporate all the expressions I wanted to try.
"hope"
Sota Morikawa
(Graduated from Sendai Commercial High School)
I wanted to create a persuasive drama, so I decided to make the real-life experiences of an LGBTQ person the theme. I had never been able to tell anyone, but about a year ago, my friends started to accept me as a matter of course, and that was a big change. It was difficult to face myself from scratch when writing the script, but I hope that the work will give hope to people in the same situation.
