The "Rediscover Your Local Area Contest" was held from 2014 to 2021 and was aimed at high school students who are interested in local businesses and products and have innovative ideas and planning plans. It invited submissions of business plans that would revitalize the local area by utilizing "things and events that the local area can be proud of," such as the technology of local small and medium-sized enterprises, specialty products, traditional products, traditional performing arts, the natural environment, and cultural heritage.

The submitted works were subjected to a first comprehensive judging process by faculty members from the School of Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration who serve as judges for the Local Rediscovery Contest, looking at the perspective, expressiveness, feasibility, etc. Works that were deemed to have excellent plans as a result of the first judging process advanced to the final judging process, where the faculty members who serve as judges for the Local Rediscovery Contest and student judges Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration selected the winning works based on presentations of about five minutes each.
