The Department of Economics aims to become a center for those who wish to study economics, where they can build up a solid foundation and develop the intellectual and creative abilities of others.
This course offers courses in theory, history, policy, economics-related laws, foreign economics reading, etc., and is a course for specialized and comprehensive research in the field of economics. The mission of this graduate school is to train researchers and highly specialized professionals in the field of economics, and the faculty is well-suited to this end.
This course offers courses on economic theory, history, and policy. Graduate students in this course systematically study industrial economics, including production, distribution of goods and money, and consumption, from a wide range of perspectives. They are also able to grasp the current state and issues of the Japanese economy as well as the world and global economy. Students can also take courses in the undergraduate and business courses to a certain extent. Students can learn traditional individual economics and basic economic theories, and by linking these together, they can acquire the ability to identify, analyze, and solve real-world economic problems based on this foundation.

This course, including its predecessor, the Master's Program in Economics, has a history of over 40 years, and has produced many talented people who, after progressing to the Master's Program, have gone on to become researchers or professionals in the business world, making use of the specialized knowledge they gained in this course and playing an active role at the forefront of society.
The biggest challenge for graduate students is to dig deep into a specific economic topic and write a master's thesis. The supervising Professor guides and advises the students in writing the thesis while respecting their autonomy.
