About the qualification examination
- Please tell me about exemptions from tax accountant exam subjects.

By completing a master's thesis and obtaining a degree (completion), you may be able to use the tax accountant examination subject exemption system depending on the content of the thesis. However, you must pass one of the examination subjects in the field you are applying for (subjects related to tax law or accounting).
- Please tell me about exemptions from Certified Public Accountant examination subjects.
- By completing the required subjects during your studies and obtaining a degree (completion), you can apply for exemption from three multiple-choice test subjects in the Certified Public Accountant Examination (excluding Corporate Law) (Financial Accounting, Management Accounting, and Auditing).
- Can I obtain FP qualification?
- To obtain the AFP certification, you must take the required courses and pass the "Proposal Writing" course designated by the Japan Association of Financial Planners to be granted the right to register and be certified as an AFP. You will also be eligible to take the CFP® certification examination.
- Is there a set order in which degrees must be obtained in a multi-degree program?
- No, there is no set order, it's up to you to choose.
Entrance Exams
- Q: What does the entrance exam consist of?

There are AO entrance exams and working adult selection exams. The AO entrance exams consist of document screening, essay writing, and interviews, while the working adult selection exams (for those with 3 or more years of work experience) consist of document screening and interviews.
- Are past entrance exam questions publicly available?

Some of the past exam questions are included in the collection.
- I haven't graduated from university yet. Can I still apply?
- If you are 22 years old as of April 1 of the year of admission, and are recognized as having academic ability equal to or greater than that of a university graduate through an individual entrance qualifications screening, you will be allowed to apply for the entrance examination. After the individual entrance qualifications screening, please apply for the AO entrance examination.
- There are four recruitment periods, 1st through 4th. If I apply in the 1st period and am unsuccessful, can I reapply in the 2nd period or later?
- Yes, you can. You will need to submit all application documents again. Application fees will not be refunded, regardless of the outcome of the screening process.
- If you wish to write a master's thesis, you will be required to submit a "research plan" as part of your application documents. Are there any examples of such a plan?

Please refer to the "Example of a Research Plan." The application form is listed in the recruitment guidelines, so please refer to it as well. The standard research plan to be prepared after enrollment is 3 to 5 pages on A4 size paper.
- If, after enrollment, I want to research a field different from the topic in my "Research Plan," will I be allowed to change the topic?
- Since it is possible that your research topic may change after enrollment, we do allow you to change your topic.
- Is it possible to enroll in the fall?
- This is only available to international students. Students who wish to write a thesis will be admitted in the spring.

- Could you please tell me about the content of the courses and how to register?

You can check it on our university website. Please check the "Class Timetable" for course subjects and timetables, and the "For those who want to see the syllabus" on CUC PORTAL for course content. In addition, standard course model is published for each course.
Syllabus and Course Discounts
- Could you tell me about the class format?

We operate on a semester system, with 13 lessons per subject, each lasting 105 minutes.
- Due to my work schedule, it is difficult for me to attend classes during the day on weekdays. Would it be possible to complete the course by attending classes only on weekends?
- Yes, that is possible. Taking into consideration working people, the courses are allocated so that they can be taken mainly during the day on Saturdays and Sundays, and during the evenings on weekdays.
- Is it possible to complete the course by taking classes only on weekdays in the evenings?

Since courses are mainly offered during the day on Saturdays and Sundays (Ichikawa Campus), it is difficult to complete the course by only taking classes at night on weekdays. However, our university is expanding its distance learning (online classes) to accommodate working adults.
The Tax Profession Course also offers a course format that allows you to complete the course solely through distance learning (online classes).
- Can I choose my seminar supervisor?
- The seminar supervisor will be assigned by the Graduate School at the time of enrollment, but students will be asked to fill out a questionnaire before enrollment regarding their preferred days of the week to take classes and their preferred research topic.
- Are there any lectures during the summer and spring holidays?
- Intensive courses may be offered. Participation is optional.
Support system
- If I miss a lecture due to work or other reasons, is there any support available?
- Although we do not offer retake classes, most lectures (excluding research guidance and case studies) are recorded so that you can review the content of classes you missed and the instructor will follow up with you.
- Is there a place where I can study outside of class?

There is a shared study room available for graduate students to use as a self-study space. The internet is accessible via wireless LAN and a copy machine is also provided.
- Is there a tuition support system?

We provide information on the Japan Student Services Organization scholarship and a tuition loan system in partnership with multiple financial institutions. In addition, our graduate school is eligible for the education and training benefit system (professional practical education and training benefit) designated by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare (accounting professional course, tax professional course). Please note that if you repeat a year, you will not be eligible for the education and training benefit system. For more information, please check with Hello Work.
