The aim is to achieve a multifaceted understanding of services through three learning approaches: "learning from academia," "learning from companies," and "learning from activities," in order to achieve a complex effect.

"Three Learnings" at Faculty of Service Innovation

The three learning methods that underpin Faculty of Service Innovation are "learning from academia," "learning from companies," and "learning from activities."
Faculty of Service Innovation has a system in place that allows students to "learn from activities" through project activities, using the diverse knowledge and ideas acquired through "learning from academia" and "learning from companies."
Official supporting companies provide strong support for "learning from companies" and "learning from activities."
This way of learning is attracting attention as a new style of human resource development.

Learning from Academics

Learning from Academics

The basis of service creation is a wide range of knowledge to understand human feelings and society. At Faculty of Service Innovation, students learn broadly and deeply in six academic fields, including "Service Creation Subjects" to learn the theory of service creation, "Liberal Arts Subjects" to acquire a broad education, and "Seminars" to deepen their specialization, and acquire a wealth of knowledge.

Learning from companies

Learning from companies

Learn directly from professionals who strive to create new services every day. We have programs in collaboration with a variety of companies, mainly official supporter companies. In addition to company visits, you can hear about the inside story of hits from guest lecturers and invite experts from each industry. In addition to valuable knowledge not found in textbooks, you can also acquire the manners and communication skills necessary for working adults.

Learning from Activities

Learning from Activities

Students put what they have learned from academia and companies into actual "service creation" through project activities. Students brainstorm ideas to plan new services, and then involve companies and faculty to work toward making their plans a reality. They could host an event or create a new product. The issues they uncover in their activities will lead to even greater growth.

Learning from Activities

curriculum

The courses are arranged so that students can learn from the basics to applications in three groups of subjects: "Learning from Academics," "Learning from Companies," and "Learning from Activities." Research subjects (seminars) also start in the first year, and we have taken care to allow students to learn practically according to their goals and interests.
Additionally, we have introduced a number of new education and learning systems not previously seen in university education, such as collaboration with official supporter companies that support education and research in service creation, undergraduate courses starting at 10:55 a.m. or later, fitness courses held at off-campus gyms, learning paths that allow students and faculty to work together to create course plans, and the recognition of credits according to acquired qualifications.
