Entrance Exams
- What types of entrance exams are there?

There are AO entrance exams for working adults, AO entrance exams for international students, and general entrance exams. In addition, we also hold a special on-campus selection exam and an on-campus AO entrance exam for undergraduate students.
- Q: What does the entrance exam consist of?

The application process will involve a review of submitted documents, a written essay test (excluding the AO entrance exam for working adults for the Policy Informatics course), and an interview.
- I haven't graduated from university, am I eligible to apply?
- If the results of the individual entrance qualification examination conducted by our university show that you have academic ability equal to or greater than that of a university graduate, you may apply.
- I am an international student. Are there any Japanese language proficiency requirements when applying?
- If you apply for the "AO Entrance Examination for International Students", you must meet the required criteria for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test. For details, please check the student recruitment guidelines.
- There are different recruitment periods, so if I apply in the first period and am unsuccessful, can I apply in the second period or later?
- Yes, it is possible.
- After enrollment, if I want to study a field different from the topic in the "Research Plan" I submitted when applying, will I be allowed to change the topic?
- Since it is possible that your research topic may change after enrollment, we do allow you to change your topic.
- How should I choose my seminar supervisor?
- When applying, students are required to select a seminar instructor (up to a second choice). You can ask questions at the entrance exam information session, and please refer to the list of seminar subjects. We also accept individual consultations at any time, so please feel free to contact us.

- Is it necessary to submit an Applicant Evaluation Report along with my application documents?
- This is required for those applying for company placement. For others, it is optional.

- Q: What does the entrance exam consist of?

There are AO entrance exams and working adult selection exams. The AO entrance exams consist of document screening, essay writing, and interviews, while the working adult selection exams (for those with 3 or more years of work experience) consist of document screening and interviews.
- Are past entrance exam questions publicly available?

- I haven't graduated from university yet. Can I still apply?
- If you are 22 years old as of April 1 of the year of admission, and are recognized as having academic ability equal to or greater than that of a university graduate through an individual entrance qualifications screening, you will be allowed to apply for the entrance examination. After the individual entrance qualifications screening, please apply for the AO entrance examination.
- There are four recruitment periods, 1st through 4th. If I apply in the 1st period and am unsuccessful, can I reapply in the 2nd period or later?
- Yes, you can. You will need to submit all application documents again. Application fees will not be refunded, regardless of the outcome of the screening process.
- If you wish to write a master's thesis, you will be required to submit a "research plan" as part of your application documents. Are there any examples of such a plan?

Please refer to the "Example of a Research Plan." The application form is listed in the recruitment guidelines, so please refer to it as well. The standard research plan to be prepared after enrollment is 3 to 5 pages on A4 size paper.
- If, after enrollment, I want to research a field different from the topic in my "Research Plan," will I be allowed to change the topic?
- Since it is possible that your research topic may change after enrollment, we do allow you to change your topic.
- Is it possible to enroll in the fall?
- This is only available to international students. Students who wish to write a thesis will be admitted in the spring.
