基盤教育機構長 大矢野潤

Starting from the 2025 academic year, Chiba University of Commerce will transition from a system of five faculties and seven departments to a system of four faculties and six departments.
In line with this, Platform for Arts and Sciences will be establishing new "Global (International Liberal Arts)" and "Data Science" subject groups to broaden the scope of learning, effectively creating a "4 faculties, 6 departments + 2" structure.
By placing learning that deepens specialization on the vertical axis and the subjects of Platform for Arts and Sciences on the horizontal axis, we aim to broaden and deepen learning.
Freshmen enter Chiba University of Commerce after passing the exams for each faculty and department, but many high school students are probably accustomed to studying in fixed classes with set timetables. Therefore, Platform for Arts and Sciences offers the first-year education program "CUC Basic" to support a smooth transition to university life, encouraging the acquisition of basic knowledge and acting as a homeroom to support a smooth transition to specialized education.
Chiba University of Commerce places emphasis on practical learning, and the educational fields it offers are vast and at the same time, the speed of change is extremely fast. In particular, by combining the latest technologies such as data science and generative AI with the liberal arts subjects it has cultivated up until now, it will bring further breadth and depth to the specialized education of each faculty.
