Platform for Arts and Sciences

The purpose of Platform for Arts and Sciences is to develop a foundation for students of our university. In order to develop human resources with "high ethical standards" and "broad-based education," one of the "CUC Three Strengths" established based on the Diploma Policy, we have established the "CUC Basic Education Subjects" as a common curriculum for all faculties.

CUC Foundational Education Courses

The CUC Foundational Education Courses are a common curriculum for all faculties that students can take, regardless of their faculty or department, as part of the university's foundational education. Students can freely choose from seven subject categories (approximately 150 subjects) according to their interests and learn a wide range of subjects.

  • General Education Courses
    Acquire a broad education in the three fields of humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences
  • Foreign Language Subjects
    Choose from six languages (English, Chinese, German, French, Spanish, Korean) and learn about diverse cultures through language.
  • Information Subjects
    Acquire information literacy that can be utilized in the specialized fields of your faculty.
  • Bookkeeping and Accounting
    Learn practical accounting and aim to obtain qualifications
  • Physical Education
    Acquire physical and mental health and cooperation through sports
  • Career Courses
    Learn about yourself and the world of work, and think about your future
  • Japanese Language Related Subjects
    Acquire the writing skills necessary for working adults
