Professor Nakamura Graduate School of Accounting & Finance, MBA Program has won the 32nd (2018) Aoki Award from the Institute of Internal Auditors of Japan for his book "IT Accounting Bookkeeping: How IT Accounting Bookkeeping Will Change the Future of Management and Auditing" (Hakuto Shobo, February 2018).
This award was established in 1987 to commemorate the research achievements of the late Dr. Shigeo Aoki (Professor Emeritus, Waseda University) on internal audit. It is given to outstanding books and papers on the research achievements of scholars, practitioners, etc. that are directly or indirectly related to auditing.
In order to draw out the extremely wide-ranging and significant benefits that have arisen from the digitization of accounting books, this book offers policy proposals by carefully summarizing the current state of the various social systems surrounding accounting, including accounting and related internal controls and audits, as well as management, which is the ultimate purpose of accounting, and how to train accountants who can take on new accounting practices.
The award was given in recognition of his work for "steadily analyzing the impact of IT on accounting systems, without pandering to new ideas," and for "focusing on the analytical examination of basic audit concepts, which is believed to contribute greatly to the development of internal audits."
Upon receiving the award, Professor Nakamura commented, "I feel very honored to receive this award, which has a long history and was established in 1987. I am also grateful that this book is the fruit of the guidance and guidance of many teachers."
