The "Ikiki Ikigai Project @ Ichikawa," involving students in the seminar of Associate Professor (specializing in social security and public finance) of Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration, won the Chiba Collaboration Grand Prize (Chiba Prefectural Governor's Award).
The Chiba Collaboration Award recognizes outstanding examples of collaboration between civic groups, educational institutions, and other organizations working to solve local issues in a variety of fields, including welfare, the environment, child-rearing, and urban development.

Students from Saito's seminar participated as volunteers in an event for nursing care prevention and dementia prevention planned by the "Ikiki Ikigai Project @ Ichikawa," and supported its operation. In addition, the seminar planned a boccia tournament as a form of recreation for seniors and students to enjoy and exercise together.

At our university, through the "Community-Oriented Activity Grant System," faculty and students work together with civic groups to carry out projects, and this year the "Ikiki Ikigai Project @ Ichikawa" was selected.

The "Ikiki Ikigai Project @ Ichikawa" was awarded the prize in recognition of the fact that it is not led by the government, but is a collaboration between civic groups, companies, and our university to plan events that benefit the elderly.
