Gakkensai is personal injury insurance for students provided by the Japan Educational Exchanges and Services (public interest incorporated foundation), which pays medical benefits, hospitalization surcharges, disability benefits, and death benefits for injuries sustained by the insured person during designated educational and research activities in Japan or overseas.
All students of this university are enrolled in the "Type B", "Commuting to School Injury Risk Coverage Special Clause" and "Additional Liability Insurance" of this insurance at the time of enrollment. For details, please refer to the "Enrollment Guide" distributed at the time of enrollment.
Student Education and Research Accident Insurance (abbreviated as "Gakkensai")
To submit an accident (insurance claim) to Gakkensai, you will need to download the SkettBook app.

By registering, you are agreeing to receive advertising emails (information on your insurance and similar information) from Tokio Marine & Nichido.
Scope of accidents covered by insurance
- During regular classes and school events (treatment period starts from 1 day)
- Within school facilities (excluding extracurricular activities), while commuting to school, while traveling between facilities (treatment period from 4 days)
- During extracurricular activities on or off campus as reported to the university (treatment period starts from 14 days)
- * Hospitalization surcharge will be paid from the first day of hospitalization.
- * Students of this university are required to apply for the Commuting Insurance Special Clause (abbreviated as Commuting Insurance Special Clause).
- * Illness is not covered by this insurance.
Accident notification and insurance claim/payment
- When an accident that is covered by insurance occurs, log in to the app, enter the necessary information such as the details of your injuries, and press the "Complete" button.
- After you have completed entering the details of your injury, you will receive an email from the insurance company (Tokio Marine & Nichido) regarding future procedures from the next business day (excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays).
- After treatment, you will log in to the app and report on the treatment details.
- We will pay the insurance claims according to the contract details. We will inform you of the amount of the insurance claim payment by postcard, etc., and will contact you promptly if we are unable to pay the claim.
- * If notification is not made within 30 days of the accident, insurance claims may not be paid.
- * Only Gakkensai can notify accidents via the SkettBook app.
Gakkensai incidental liability insurance (abbreviated as incidental liability insurance)
Insurance details
This policy covers legal damages incurred by students who injure others or damage their property while in Japan or abroad, during classes, school events, internships, nursing care experience activities, teaching practice, extracurricular activities such as volunteer work approved by the school, or on the way to or from these activities.
Any settlement with the victim will be handled by the student who caused the accident. Please consult thoroughly with the insurance company in advance regarding any settlement arrangements.

Comprehensive Student Life Insurance (Abbreviated as Futai Gakuso)
This insurance is optional.
This insurance provides comprehensive coverage that covers a broader range of student life, including payment of the actual cost of medical treatment for injuries or illnesses that occur in daily life (24-hour support) that cannot be covered by the Gakkensai and Supplementary Compensation Insurance, compensation for club activities, internships applied for individually, etc.
