- 1. I want to miss a class, what should I do?
-
1. Please speak to the teacher in charge of the class directly and explain the situation.
Our university does not have a system for public holidays (congratulatory/condolence leave, bereavement leave, job hunting, etc.). If you are forced to miss a class due to illness, etc., please explain the circumstances directly to the teacher in charge. If a teacher asks you to submit an absence notice, please download the class absence notice from CUC PORTAL, fill in the necessary information, and submit it to the teacher in charge.
- 2. I would like to take a leave of absence.
-
2. First, consult with Student Division.
If you are unable to study for more than two months due to illness or unavoidable circumstances, you may apply for a leave of absence. The application period for a leave of absence is from March 1st to July 31st for the spring semester, and from September 1st to January 31st for the fall semester. The leave of absence period is limited to one semester or one year, and runs from the date that the leave of absence is approved until the end of the relevant semester. The leave of absence cannot exceed two consecutive years, or a total of four years (※). The period of leave of absence is not included in the period of enrollment required for graduation. The procedure for returning to school is carried out in September or March, and you will return to the year you were absent from at the start of each semester.
- 3. What if I want to drop out?
-
3. Consult with Student Division.
If you wish to withdraw from school due to financial circumstances, etc., a prior interview is required. Please consult with Student Division as soon as possible. In order to withdraw from school, you must have paid all tuition fees up to the month in which you submit your request for withdrawal.
- 4. I lost my student ID card. What should I do?
-
4. Go through the reissue procedure.
If you lose or damage your student ID card, please apply for a reissue at the certificate issuing service (reissue fee: 1,500 yen + system usage fee). Your student ID card will be handed over to you at Student Division counter from the next business day onwards. If you find your lost or damaged student ID card after it has been reissued, please be sure to return it to Student Division.
- 5. I had an accident on my way home from school.
-
5. If you are heading straight home from the university, the Student Education and Research Accident Insurance will apply.
The Student Education and Research Accident Insurance applies to accidents that occur while traveling between home and the university by reasonable routes and methods (excluding methods prohibited by the university) for the purpose of attending university classes, participating in school events, or extracurricular activities. You must report the accident within 30 days of the accident, so if you are involved in an accident while traveling to or from school, please report it to Student Division Office as soon as possible.
