On Monday, April 3rd, 89 new students, the third class of Faculty of Global Studies headed straight to Taiwan after the entrance ceremony to begin their student life overseas.
The Overseas Freshman Camp (Overseas Cultural Training) is aimed at students who have just enrolled, traveling abroad to experience different cultures and communicate with local people, thereby helping them understand the significance of acquiring international culture and increasing their motivation for the next four years of study.
The students had received pre-lectures that taught them basic knowledge about Taiwan's historical background, the companies they would be visiting, and Japan-Taiwan relations, before the day of the entrance ceremony finally arrived.
After the entrance ceremony, the new students of Faculty of Global Studies gathered in a large classroom with suitcases in hand. As a final orientation, they were given information on things to be aware of during the training period, the upcoming schedule, and how to fill out immigration cards. Finally, Dean said, "This is finally your first step to connecting with the world," and all the students boarded the bus to Narita Airport.
Local information about the Overseas Freshman Camp in Taiwan will be posted on Facebook from Monday, April 3rd to Friday, April 7th, 2017.
