We are looking for participants for the English program at the University of Nebraska at Omaha in the United States.
The program is part of the CUC Summer Program (held July 16-30 this year), an exchange program where overseas university students study Japanese politics and economics and experience Japanese culture at our university. The program's appeal is that participants can basically only pay for travel expenses.
Improving your language skills and understanding different cultures are necessary qualities in a global society. Experience abroad is a chance to hone these qualities. We encourage you to apply.

Application details

1. Training Period

August 14th (Monday) - August 23rd (Wednesday), 2017

2. Training Content

Lectures in English, cultural experiences, corporate tours, interaction with local students, etc.

3. Training location

University of Nebraska at Omaha (Nebraska, USA)

4. Number of applicants

8 people in total (minimum 4 people)

5. Eligibility

  1. Applicants must be enrolled in the undergraduate program in 2017, be healthy, proactive, and cooperative.
  2. People who are interested in American culture and history
  3. Those who have a level of English proficiency sufficient for everyday communication

6. Costs

  1. Airfare: Approximately 200,000 yen (subject to change)
  2. Travel processing fees: Passport acquisition fees, ESTA acquisition fees
  3. Overseas travel insurance: You must enroll in overseas travel insurance designated by the university.
  4. Food expenses: Meals other than those in the cafeteria on campus
  5. Cultural experience tour fee: Participation fee for tours visited in the program
  6. Transportation expenses: Local transportation expenses and round-trip transportation expenses from your home to Narita Airport
  7. Personal expenses: pocket money, phone bills, etc.

7. Notes

  1. This program is being recruited as an exchange program between CUC Summer Program participating schools, so training fees, accommodation fees, and meal fees (with some exceptions) will be waived.
  2. In the event of a large number of applicants, priority will be given to those who have participated in the most recent summer program as participants or supporters.
  3. Driving (cars or motorcycles) is not permitted during the training period.
  4. Participants will be required to submit a health certificate.
  5. This training will not be led by faculty or staff of our university. Please follow the instructions of the University of Nebraska at Omaha staff while on-site. Also, please act with the awareness that you are a student of Chiba University of Commerce.

8. Participant Information Session

Applications are accepted at any time at International Center of the Main Building.

9. Documents to be submitted at the time of application

  1. Application form (prescribed form)
  2. Academic transcript
  3. Health certificate

10. Application Method and Deadline

Please fill out the application form available at International Center Office (1st floor of the main building) and submit it along with your academic transcript and health certificate. Applicants will be interviewed and participants will be selected.
