We are looking for participants for a program to study Indian culture and history in English at Sir Padhampat Singhania University in Udaipur, Rajasthan, India.
The program is part of the CUC Summer Program (held July 10-30 this year), an exchange program in which international students study Japanese politics and economics and experience Japanese culture at our university. The program's appeal is that participants can basically only pay for travel expenses.
Improving your language skills and understanding different cultures are necessary qualities in a global society. Experience abroad is a chance to hone these qualities. We encourage you to apply.

Application details

1. Training Period

Thursday, February 8th, 2018 to Friday, February 23rd, 16 days (planned)

2. Training Content

  • Morning: Lecture in English
  • Afternoon: Visit to local companies and historical sites

3. Training location

Sir Padhampat Singhania University (Udaipur, Rajasthan, India) and Delhi

4. Number of applicants

5 people (minimum number of participants: 3 people)

5. Eligibility

  1. Applicants must be enrolled in the undergraduate program in 2017, be healthy, proactive, and cooperative.
  2. Those who can communicate in English and have an interest in Indian culture and history
  3. Priority will be given to supporters of the 2017 Summer Program in the selection process.

6. Costs

  1. Airfare: Approximately 140,000 yen (subject to change)
  2. Travel procedure fees: Passport acquisition fees, visa acquisition fees
  3. Overseas travel insurance: You must enroll in overseas travel insurance designated by the university.
  4. Transportation expenses: Local transportation expenses and round-trip transportation expenses from your home to Narita Airport
  5. Personal expenses: pocket money, phone bills, etc.

7. Notes

  1. This program is being recruited as an exchange program between CUC Summer Program participating schools, so training fees, accommodation fees, and meal fees (with some exceptions) will be waived.
  2. In the event of a large number of applicants, priority will be given to those who have participated in the most recent summer program as participants or supporters.
  3. You cannot join the program midway through.
  4. Driving (cars or motorcycles) is not permitted during the training period.
  5. Any activities or overnight stays outside of the designated itinerary are not permitted.
  6. This training is not credit-certified.
  7. This training will be led by faculty and staff of our university. Please follow the instructions of the leaders and staff of Sir Padamat Singhania University during the training. Please also act with the awareness of being a Chiba University of Commerce student.

10. Application Method and Deadline

Please fill out and submit the application form available at International Center Office (1st floor of the main building). Applicants will be interviewed to determine who will participate.
