Recruiting participants for the 2018 Jilin Huaqiao Foreign Language Institute (China) Exchange Program!

We are looking for participants for a program to study Chinese language and culture at Jilin Huaqiao Foreign Language Institute in China.
The program is part of the CUC Summer Program (held from July 8th to July 22nd this year), an exchange program in which international students study Japanese politics and economics and experience Japanese culture at our university. The program's appeal is that participants can basically only pay for travel expenses.
Improving your language skills and understanding different cultures are necessary qualities in a global society. Experience abroad is a chance to hone these skills. We encourage you to apply.

1. Training Period

September 2nd (Sunday) - September 16th (Sunday), 2018

2. Training Content

Chinese language classes, Chinese culture experience, interaction with local students

3. Training location

Jilin Huaqiao Foreign Language School (Changchun, China)

4. Number of applicants

3 people in total (minimum 1 person)

5. Eligibility

1. Applicants must be enrolled in the undergraduate program in 2018, be healthy, proactive, and cooperative.
2. People who are interested in Chinese culture and history
3. Chinese language level is not important, but beginner level is preferable.

6. Costs

1. Airfare: Approximately 80,000 yen (subject to change)
2. Travel procedure fee: Passport acquisition fee
3. Overseas travel insurance: You must enroll in overseas travel insurance designated by the university.
4. Transportation expenses: Local transportation expenses and round-trip transportation expenses from your home to the airport (Narita or Haneda)
5. Personal expenses: weekend meals, free time, pocket money, phone calls, etc.

7. Notes

1. This program is an exchange program with participating schools in the CUC Summer Program, so tuition fees, accommodation fees, and meals (except weekends) will be waived.
2. In the event of a large number of applicants, priority will be given to recent summer program participants and those who have participated as supporters.
3. You cannot join the program midway through.
4. Driving (cars or motorcycles) is not permitted during the training period.
5. This training is not credit-certified.
6. This training will not be supervised by faculty or staff of our university. Please follow the instructions of the staff of Jilin Huaqiao Foreign Language Institute on-site. In addition, this training is a joint training with universities not only in Japan but also around the world, so please act with awareness as a Chiba University of Commerce student.

8. Participant Information Session

Explanations will be provided at International Center of the Main Building from time to time.

10. Application Method and Deadline

Please fill out the application form available at International Center Office (1st floor of the main building) and submit it along with your health certificate. Applicants will be interviewed and participants will be selected.
