Students support students from 18 universities in 11 countries and regions! "2018 CUC Summer Program" held

International Center

June 21, 2018

Our university will be the host school and will invite 51 students from 18 universities in 11 countries and regions, including China, France, Germany, India, Israel, South Korea, Russia, Taiwan, the UK, the US, and Vietnam, to participate in the 15-day "2018 CUC Summer Program" from Sunday, July 8th to Sunday, July 22nd.

Key Points for This Year

  • The international students will pay a courtesy visit to Ichikawa City's new mayor, Yutami Murakoshi. After the mayor gives a welcome speech in English, students from each university will give a one-minute speech introducing their country and their impressions of coming to Japan.
  • International students will participate in the university-wide SDGs initiative "Operation Uchimizu to Stay Cool," wearing yukata. By experiencing the effectiveness of traditional methods for staying cool in the Japanese summer, they will have the opportunity to think about environmental issues.
  • The poster session "World Tour at CUC" will feature participating students introducing their own countries, and students from our affiliated high school and high school students recruited at our open campus will also participate. We are also planning an exchange event between overseas students, our students, and high school students.

CUC Summer Program Overview

The program has been held since 2011 with the aim of fostering basic skills for working members of society in the global era through communication with students from overseas. The number of participating schools has doubled since the program's inception, and it has expanded from Asia to a wider region. Students from our university are required to participate in all programs as supporters, and there are currently over 180 registered supporters. The supporters accompany the students on sightseeing trips during their free time, and interact with the students from overseas during the program.
