Our university and its affiliated high school have joined forces to start a study group called "IT Dojo" aimed at improving information processing skills. The "IT Dojo" aims to produce a large number of successful candidates by providing students from our university and the affiliated high school with the IT knowledge necessary to take the IT Passport, the Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination, and higher-level qualification examinations. In addition to exam preparation, the dojo also introduces the rapidly changing trends in the IT industry and engages in lively discussions to deepen understanding of IT and the industry.
The first period will begin on Wednesday, May 17th, and classes will be held every other week, mainly aimed at passing the IT Passport exam, with intensive classes planned for the summer vacation in August. The IT Passport is known as a national exam that can prove basic IT knowledge that working adults and students should have, as the use of IT continues to increase in all industries and occupations, and is actively used by many companies. It is a good way for both university and high school students to prepare for future employment, and especially for high school students, it can be used for preferential entrance exam systems and credit recognition when going on to university. 34 students from our university and 21 students from the affiliated high school are participating in the first period of the program, aiming to obtain the IT Passport.
In the "IT Dojo," teachers specializing in information from our university and the affiliated high school will serve as instructors (masters). The goal of this high school-university collaboration project is to strengthen the IT skills of the entire Chiba Gakuen Educational Corporation, which operates both schools, and to promote intellectual exchange. For this reason, we will be calling for the participation of not only more students and pupils, but also faculty and staff in the future.
