Revitalizing the local area through the experience of agriculture, food and art! "Sanmu Rice Field Art Project"

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

May 22, 2018

We will be holding the "Sanmu Rice Field Art Project 2018" (sponsored by Chiba University of Commerce Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Sanmu Rice Field Art PROJECT).

昨年の様子Since the faculty opened in 2014, the faculty has been working on various projects to understand the issues facing the local community and put into practice ways to solve them. This project has been held since 2015, and this year marks its fourth time. This event, which is open to both children and adults, not only allows participants to experience rice planting, but also allows them to interact with the local community through food, selling products made in collaboration with the university using livestock and agricultural products from Sanmu City, such as meat and sausages (Kobayashi Farm), green onion dressing, green onion pickles (Sanbu Vegetable Network), and CUC blends.

デザイン画The theme of this year's rice field art is "Connecting ancient stories to the present." The design planned and created by students is based on the motif of "Princess Kaguya." At the "Starting Rice Planting" event on Saturday, June 2nd, colorful seedlings will be planted according to this design. Everyone is welcome to participate.
*The harvest event that will conclude the project, "Iroiro Rice Harvesting," is scheduled for Saturday, October 6th.
