Mutsuo Fujisaki, a third-year student Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (graduated from Ishioka Daiichi High School), has been selected in the first round of selection to represent Japan in the Excel division of the MOS World Student Championships 2025.
This year, over 12,000 students from across Japan entered the competition in the hopes of becoming Japan's representative. As a result of the first round of selection, 20 winners were selected for each application category, and Fujisaki was honored as a winner at the "MOS World Student Competition 2025 Japan Representative Presentation & Awards Ceremony" on June 4th.
Fujisaki took the MOS Excel course on campus with the aim of acquiring MOS skills. During the five-day intensive course, he studied in a variety of creative ways, including thoroughly studying and reviewing in his spare time, and working through the mock exam program, in order to efficiently deepen his understanding, and he obtained the MOS Excel qualification with a perfect score.
I took the MOS Excel course because I wanted to challenge myself in areas I'm not good at and improve my abilities. I was spending a lot of time on part-time work and school assignments, and I was going through a period where I wasn't really challenging myself. That's when I came across the MOS Excel course. Since entering university, I've had more opportunities to use Excel, and since many people around me, including myself, struggle with it, I decided to take the course to gain more skills. As a result, thanks to the course, I was able to pass the Excel exam, which I was not good at, and even compete in a world championship. I felt that the joy of being able to do something I couldn't do before gave me a lot of confidence. I would like to use this experience as a springboard to try many other things.
