On February 8th, Faculty of Service Innovation held the Service Creation Festival 2024, with the aim of providing students with an opportunity to present what they have learned and to gain new insights through keynote speeches. Approximately 690 people participated, including students, guarantors, company representatives, faculty and staff, and those planning to enroll in 2025 (same faculty).
In the first part, undergraduate alumni Taikan Wakamatsu (Class of 2015) from Rakuten Group Inc. and Ayae Kato (Class of 2023) from AEON Retail Co., Ltd. were invited to speak with a student moderator about the challenges and growth they experienced as students, as well as their current jobs. In the keynote speech, Satoshi Amanuma, President and CEO of Air Closet Inc., spoke in detail about the background to the launch of Japan's first monthly fashion rental service specializing in everyday clothing, the company's philosophy, and the services it provides. Through the speeches, the students gained a deeper understanding of business and had a valuable opportunity to think about their own futures.
In the second part, each "Introduction to Projects" class gave a presentation on their activities and research results over the past year. In the atrium in front of the venue, a total of 19 teams from 9 projects and 10 seminars held a poster session summarizing their activities for this year and gave detailed explanations to the participants.
The awards ceremony was held during the third part of the social gathering, where eight awards were announced, including the Student Project Grand Prize, which was given to the project that carried out the most outstanding activities.
The prospective students who participated commented, "It was easy to get around because we were divided into teams," "I was able to interact with older students and learn more about the university before enrolling," and "I was able to understand the activities very well, so I would like to actively participate in seminars and projects when I enroll."
