Raising awareness of sports for people with disabilities and aiming to create a society where everyone can live comfortably

ゆめ旅KAIGO!

Through the activities of Yume Tabi KAIGO!, we learn about the ideal form of a society without barriers, and new forms and challenges of tourism. As part of our efforts to raise awareness of sports for people with disabilities, we are participating as a permanent member of the "Ichikawa Gourmet Marche," which is also managed by Associate Professor Kota Oguchi Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and we are holding a boccia tournament. Through this event, we are promoting awareness of sports for people with disabilities and working to create a society without barriers.

By participating in the activities, I felt that my values changed and my horizons broadened. I had no opportunities to interact with elderly people or people with disabilities, so I could only see things from the perspective of able-bodied people. However, by actually participating in Yume Tabi's activities, I realized that I had prejudices. From there, I started to think about what I should do in the future and what the world needs, and I was able to narrow down the profession I wanted to pursue in the future. Even if you are not aiming for a welfare-related career, I realize that it is important to participate in activities to broaden your horizons. I was interested in regional revitalization, and when I entered university, I studied hard with the goal of revitalizing tourist destinations. However, through Yume Tabi's activities, my thoughts have changed and I now want to create a town where marginal villages and a wide variety of people can live comfortably. From my own experience, I would like people who are not interested in welfare to participate in the activities in order to broaden their values and horizons.
