Liven up the town with a marche!
The Ichikawa Gourmet Marche is held twice a month (on the second and fourth Saturdays) at the Ichikawa Regional Wholesale Market. It started in November 2020, and the student team has been participating and working since the launch stage.
The Marche is a lively place where vegetables, flowers, processed goods, and more are gathered from Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, and all over Japan. There are also a variety of food trucks and craft beers, so you can enjoy eating and drinking.
Students are involved in the operation of the entire market, planning events such as "Mini Festival," "Making Eco Bags with Vegetable Stamps," and "Halloween Costume Party," and working as staff on the day at the reception, parking and venue guidance, sales assistance, disseminating information, etc. Through these activities, they are learning about the connection between food and agriculture, creating a place for intergenerational exchange, and local revitalization.
