Doctoral thesis guidance content

Through the process of writing a doctoral dissertation on the history of Japanese education or East Asian regional studies, students will gradually develop the ability to write academic papers. The process of writing a doctoral dissertation involves (1) students setting a research topic based on their own interests and investigating previous research on that topic, (2) critically examining existing academic theories and clarifying where the problems lie, and (3) constructing their own original views while examining as many sources as possible in order to overcome the problems. Faculty members will provide appropriate guidance according to the students' progress.
