Let's try various things!
Research Themes
The research theme of this seminar is corporate accounting. Corporate accounting is an established system. Companies raise funds from outside. Therefore, they must provide a report card (business performance, etc.) to the outside people who provide them with funds. The aim is to acquire knowledge that will enable you to analyze how much profit a company has made, how it is managing its assets, and whether its management is doing well.
Activities
- (1) Financial Statement Analysis
Participants are divided into several groups and ratios are calculated over time for two to four competitors in the industry of interest, and characteristics are extracted and analyzed from several aspects, such as profitability. - (2) Seminar trip
As is typical of our department, we plan seminar trips every year to help students learn about Japanese culture at popular tourist spots. - (3) Presentation Competition
Third-year and second-year seminar students will work in groups on a given theme and then compete in a presentation.
Student Voices
Yuya Matsuzaki
Before I joined this seminar, I helped the university as a staff member of the open campus. Since joining Professor Yoshida's seminar, I have been trying to be more positive in various things, such as taking charge of seminar trips. Professor Yoshida suggested that I become someone who can contribute to the university, and now I am in charge of the general affairs office of the open campus.
Mr. Shogo Fukuhara
Up until now, I have often acted alone, but since joining the seminar, I have been able to act cooperatively by cooperating with those around me during presentations and other events. Also, I was put in charge of SA in the bookkeeping class, and while I answered the questions of my juniors with the motto of "half learning, half teaching," I realized that I learned a lot myself.
