Taketoshi Ikeda Seminar (Research on business strategies and innovation in modern companies)

Observe and think about modern society from a business management perspective with intellectual curiosity.

Research Themes

The main theme of this seminar is business administration, with a particular focus on business strategy and innovation.
In modern society, daily life is impossible without using the products and services provided by many companies. In other words, companies have a strong influence on our society and lives, both in good and bad ways.
Therefore, understanding business administration and business strategies as the principles of corporate activities is a great help in understanding society. Also, understanding the significance of innovation that creates new value from corporate activities is important in thinking about a better society.
Through these studies, students will develop the ability to examine various issues in modern society from a business management perspective.

Activities

To deepen your understanding of business management, it is important to carefully organize real-world trends from a theoretical perspective.
Therefore, as part of the seminar, we have opportunities for guest lectures by corporate executives several times a year. At these times, the guests provide management issues for their companies as "pre-assignments," and the students work in groups to consider the content, then present and discuss the results in front of the executives. How will the results that students have come up with after serious thought be evaluated by active executives? All of these skills are put to the test, including problem-finding ability, logical thinking ability, ability to summarize, ability to communicate, and ability to listen.
We also organize off-campus tours (visiting events, companies, etc.) to cultivate intellectual curiosity and observational skills.
