Yuta Arai Seminar (Probability theory, statistics and their application to service research)

Why not use probability theory and statistics to unravel the laws behind everyday life?

Research Themes

There are many phenomena around us, such as traffic jams, forest fires, the rapid spread of posts on social media, and sudden increases in demand for certain services. These phenomena occur randomly and appear to have no pattern, but in fact there may be certain laws hidden behind them.
In Arai's seminar, we focus on these everyday phenomena and service trends, and aim to logically elucidate the "regularities" behind them using methods from probability theory and statistics.
Another research topic is to "visualize" services, which are defined as "invisible value," by collecting and analyzing data and linking theory and practice.
