Seminar that connects you with society (Business Law)
Research Themes
The Financial Instruments and Exchange Act is a law that mainly concerns (1) listed companies and securities, (2) related parties (stock exchanges, securities companies, investors, etc.), and (3) other investments (movie funds, etc.). There is a lot of news about well-known and large companies listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, such as Nintendo, Toyota, and LINE. Seminar students are researching topics such as window dressing and insider trading. The law also applies to unlisted financial products such as (3). Interesting new methods of fundraising, such as equity crowdfunding, are also researched. It is often thought of as a law about money, but it is a law that is closely related to listed companies. Depending on the desired place of employment, some students choose to research the bill and cheque law or the corporate law.
Activities
Students study efficiently using textbooks, newspapers, and qualification textbooks. To set goals, seminar students receive individual consultations from employment Counselor repeatedly. Alumni and practitioners also provide advice through lectures, emails, and drinking parties. This seminar aims to win the Faculty of Commerce and Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration Award by receiving qualification subsidies, participating in summer programs (interacting with international students), exchange programs (studying abroad), internships, SAs, and helping with open campuses. Students have obtained securities sales representative 1st and 2nd grades, FP 1st to 3rd grades, etc., and have written papers on insider trading and electronic bills, and have been employed at SMBC Nikko Securities (general position), Asahi Shinkin Bank, Saitama Shinkin Bank, etc. Employment outside of financial institutions includes Nippon House Holdings (First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange), Keiyo Gas (Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange), etc.

Kosugi Seminar is a seminar where we learn about laws such as the Companies Act and the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act. Although the technical terms may be difficult, I think one of the strengths of the seminar is that we can aim to obtain qualifications in related laws. In addition, the professor is very considerate about job hunting, advising us to "start preparing for job hunting little by little from the third year."
