Zhu Min Seminar (Modern Chinese Economy and Society)

Get to know the real China!

Research Themes

What kind of political system does China have?
How has China developed?
What kind of environmental policies does China have?
What kind of university life do Chinese university students lead? We will clear up such simple questions about China and teach basic knowledge about China from scratch. The aim is to develop the ability to see China from various angles, including comparisons with Japan.
In this seminar, we will deepen our understanding of China by learning the basics of modern Chinese economy and society. After learning about the real China, we will face China head-on and reconsider it.

Activities

  • This seminar is a seminar where we research, present, and discuss about China. We use PowerPoint to make presentations, so you can expect to improve your presentation skills, including the ability to speak in front of people. In addition, by discussing, you can deepen your understanding of China.
  • This seminar is student-centered. After listening to everyone's interests, we choose textbooks, reference books, and visual aids, and we can learn about what everyone wants to know. By researching something that interests you, you will naturally learn and remember the content you have researched.
  • This seminar is a seminar where everyone gets along well. There are many interactions not only with students in the same year, but also with seniors. In addition to studying, we also prepare for the school festival and travel to China. In 2014, the second and third year seminars jointly set up a stall at the school festival, and in 2016 we went on a trip to Taiwan.
