Let's aim to become civil servants together! Study hard and play hard!
Research Themes
In local areas, civil servants must play supporting roles to support the main players, the residents. This requires knowledge of local government and local finance, and this study aims to acquire this knowledge. Local government means that local matters are handled by the local government, and local finance refers to the economic activities carried out by local governments (prefectures, cities, towns, and villages).
With regard to local government, we will tackle the issues facing local areas with an awareness of how residents should be involved in their local areas and how public servants should support residents. With regard to local finances, we will consider issues such as why prefectures and municipalities are necessary and whether local areas are in the black or the red.
Activities
- Regular seminar activities
Students will report, ask questions, and discuss with each other on topics related to local areas. Of course, we will provide guidance on the basic format, but as long as there are no major errors, they are free to do as they like. We will also hold debates. For example, students will be divided into groups to discuss whether they are for or against the Osaka Metropolitan Government Plan. The goal of regular seminar activities is to improve students' thinking, speaking, and debating skills. - Fieldwork
Every year, second-year students conduct fieldwork in the winter, and third-year students in the summer. Seminar students go on overnight research trips to prefectures, cities, towns, and villages that interest them. Fieldwork trips allow them to make discoveries that are connected to themes for their graduation thesis, and experiencing the atmosphere on the ground can change the motivation and way of thinking of seminar students. To date, students have visited Fujiyoshida City (costs of disposing of bodies of suicide victims), Atami City (a V-shaped recovery in Atami tourism), Akashi City (childcare support and fiscal consolidation), and more. *Fieldwork themes are in parentheses.

There are two major points about the Enado seminar.
The first is that you can accumulate a wide range of knowledge and experience. In particular, fieldwork gives you the opportunity to hear real voices from the field, gain knowledge that you cannot get at school, and experience things that are difficult to get to.
The second advantage is that the environment is perfect for studying for the civil service exam. All of the seminar students are aiming to become civil servants, so there is friendly competition. They also support double schooling, so you can work hard towards your goal.

Since the Enado Seminar is for students aiming to become civil servants, many students may have the impression that it is a serious seminar where you only study. However, in reality, the Enado Seminar has a strong balance between study and play, and its appeal lies in the fact that you can enrich both your studies and play. This seminar is perfect for students who want to focus on both study and play, and on studying as well as play, in their university life, so I recommend it.
