Gain practical marketing skills
Research Themes
It is important to have a consumer perspective in marketing. We are all born as respectable "consumers." We will conduct a series of empirical research projects that identify marketing issues based on questions we encounter in our daily lives as consumers, and make proposals to solve these issues using statistical methods. The goal of this seminar is to acquire practical marketing proposal skills through research activities.
Activities
Based on theories of marketing and consumer behavior, students will develop and verify hypotheses for issues that interest them. They will carry out a series of empirical research projects, from designing surveys to verify hypotheses, to collecting and analyzing data, interpreting the results, and making new proposals.
The fall semester of the second year is where students build their foundation. They learn statistical methods and work on a project. A company sets a task for them, and they conduct research and analyze the data to come up with a proposal and give a presentation.
From the third year onwards, students will select a theme based on their individual interests and carry out research. In addition, students will be able to take the initiative in deciding the content of their activities, such as projects in which they select companies in the industry they want to discuss and tackle issues posed by those companies, and even participating in marketing contests outside the university.
